- Mary-Ellen J1 contributionA Very Funny, Lighthearted ShowWe went on a Monday when there were few options for shows and found it very funny. Lots of slapstick, physical humour which was executed very well. It was light hearted and the actors were excellent. Congratulations to them. Great interaction with the audience. It was a lovely night out and well worth it. It was great to leave the show chuckling at everything that happened. Thank you.Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 3 October 2023
- Harry ALong Island, New York112 contributionsOne of my favorite showsI have seen this show three times already: twice on Broadway (once even with the original cast), and once of Broadway. All three times were some of the hardest laughs I’ve ever had in my life. This show is hilarious! The cast does an excellent job, and in the smaller off-broadway theater, every seat is a good seat. This show is heavy on the slapstick/physical comedy, so if that’s up your alley, give this show a try. You’ll be glad you did!Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 4 November 2023
- the-hugginsBillericay, United Kingdom81 contributionsBrilliant slapstick :-)We absolutely loved this. We went to matinee performance on a Sat. Only bad thing was my make up, I wiped it all off as was laughing so much! It's just great old fashioned slap stick. Everyone around us was chuckling so much. It's a great feeling. All actors were fab. Think show length was 1 hour then a break, then a further 45minsVisited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 17 December 2023
- Al L1 contributionBrilliant in every way! Don't miss it!Every once in a while you stumble upon something great and experience a truly transformational experience that leaves you laughing, smiling, and reminiscing with those who experienced it with you. Such was the case with The Play that Goes Wrong. The writing, acting, staging, set, and every other aspect - simply brilliant and laugh-out-loud funny. In fact, we woke up the next morning after seeing it, laughing still. If you've ever been IN a play, you'll enjoy it even more. All I can say is THANK YOU to everyone involved for creating a wonderful and terrifically enjoyable experience that will stay with us for a while. If you haven't seen this, GO! You won't regret it. We ALL need more laughter in our lives and this fantastic theater experience delivers. Just amazing. Wonderful. Go!Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 9 March 2024
- abeaglerWest Lafayette, Indiana78 contributionsMost hilarious play I've ever seen!Oh my gosh, so, so hilarious. You might think that farce and slapstick would wear thin over the span of two hours, but you would be wrong. Amazing cast, with incredible comedic timing and physical skills, an amazing production overall.Visited March 2024Travelled with familyWritten 13 March 2024
- marcoletCork, Ireland491 contributionsGreat show in lovely theatreGreat show. Wasn't sure what to expect but as the reviews are very good we decided to book. It was a good choice and both myself and my husband really enjoyed it. It's very well done and funny. Lovely small theatre. We had aisle seats Row E so had a great view of the entire stage. Recalling bits the next day you would still be smiling.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 6 April 2024

My wife & I saw a Sunday matinee without knowing anything really about the play. Couldn't have been happier about our decision. Absolutely hysterical. Laugh out loud funny from start to finish. Both incredibly witty & impressive with its slapstick comedy. Plus, the tickets were very affordable (we got them the day before at the TKTS booth in Times Square) and there literally isn't a bad seat in the intimate theater. Highly, highly recommended. Also wouldn't hesitate to take kids, especially teens.

From start to finish none stop laughter. Don't even attempt to understand the story line since there isn't one. As the title explains everything goes wrong and that is the premise of the play.
The theatre is the perfect size so no matter where you sit you will have a good view.
This was our 2nd time seeing it (1st time was in Nov 2019) and a few characters were different but it was just as good. Will be back again!!

We chose this play as a backup, purchase tickets at TKTS, as our first choices were sold out. First time at New World Stages 340 West 50 th street. Address on header is incorrect. EZ walk to this complex. Complex is nice, basic, comfortable, good restrooms. Building is industrial, not the ambiance of the older theatres but very nice. Jersey Boys also playing here. Back to the play within a play. Concept is a College is putting on a play " Murder at Haversam Manor" and then, all the mayhem that ensues with faulty sets, inept actors. Very Very funny if you enjoy physical comedy. The set was incredible and was like another actor. Good for the entire family. Be sure to read the Playbill as this is also funny, with the same theme. Recommended, especially if you can score TKTS discounted tix.

If you like slapstick comedy (think airplane , the movie) this one is for you. Personally, not my cup of tea. While the actors had some energy & wit, it wasn't (off Broadway) caliber. Saw a local small community theatre show for $20 recently that I thought was better. Wish I had sprung $$ for a real broadway show. Sorry this one was a no for me. :(

Well, that play is something different. At first you won't even think that the adjustments are part of the script and not some last-minute adjustment due to a leaking pipe or a backstage fire.
It's certainly something great for those who see it for a first time. Especially if they manage to get their hands on some great, cheap tickets!

I can’t even say how much I loved this show. I went with two kids, age 7 and 9. I thought it seemed like something they would enjoy. And they had never seen a non musical play. Well, they had the best time! It’s all they talk about from our New York trip. That and Central Park. What I didn’t expect was that I would laugh so hard that my face hurt. I don’t normally care for silly stuff like this, but it was so well performed. The cast is top notch.

Read a few reviews saying sitting too far to the right you miss things. How far to the right can we sit and not miss anything? Please don't saying anything if you can't give a real answer.

There is a small side line of humor going on in the box stage right.... basically a guy with bad cell phone manners. I. do not feel it was a material element of the play, but you will miss it if you sit orchestra rear stage right.

What's the youngest you would recommend? I'm thinking about taking my 8, 11, 13 and 15 year olds.

I concur with the prior responses, I can't think of anything vulgar enough to eschew with your kids, but they are likely to be impressed with the acting, the environment, and the slapstick aspects. The humor is such that it is contagious within the audience so they may even be carried buy that a bit.
