Great place to stay of visit. Lots of beautiful streets to walk through. There were a wide range of good restaurants and endless small bars

Straight away it felt like home. Meatpacking is like Melbourne on steroids. It's full of the coolest boutique shops, cafes and restaurants. May I also mention beautiful people! I've never seen such cool human beings! It's definitely good that "cool" vibe. People are so lovely, easy to get around. Love love love the meatpacking district...

It was at the end of our walk along the High Line which we found very average and with a lot of buildings crammed in at the sides, no view and not that well maintained. We went fairly early on a Saturday morning and there was not much open. Some of the stores are really aiming to hit the tourist... More

This district has been transformed from industrial to high-end shopping and eating. I remember it when it was dangerous. Now the only danger is that you will spend too much money.

Very historical. Well restored and good amount of shopping here. Also very close to the entry of the high line so worth a small detour.

The Meatpacking District, is good to see from Chelsea Market up to Hells Kitchen via walking the Highline, then you can pick and choose where you want to go down to street level for a drink food etc, its also a good area just to wander around the streets and see what you come across.

walk the streets but expensive, not too expensive in my opinión but if you are there, should choose a good restaurant and be prepared to pay for it.

Staying in West Village

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
