Christmas stroll

A lively place for a wander. A very interesting area to spend a few hours. Nice to get some respite from the crowds.

Great for reminiscing and imagining what it was like to alive 200-300 years ago travelling on those great tall ships. If you're a dreamer or just interested in history or ships, its worth a visit

The Seaport's a little sleepy these days. Even the Imagination Playground nearly was locked up when we visited. The new Pier 17 with restaurants by Jean Georges and David Chang, due to be completed in 2017, should liven things up a bit.

The museum was almost completely destroyed two years ago and has not yet been fully restored, still worth a visit however for the guided tour of two well preserved ships tied up at the pier. Visit the Lightship Ambrose and the fully rigged Wavertree for a glimpse of the tough lives lived by sailors back in the day. The lightship... More

This is such a cool place - many movies were filmed here including Woody Allen's Annie Hall. Great area to walk around, visit the cool shops and sit at one of the many restaurants and cafes. While walking enjoy the breeze coming from the water's direction and look at old architecture and some restored buildings and ships.

I got lucky! Taste of South Street Seaport was running when I visited. People! Food! Music! Great architecture. It was so much fun, I forgot to visit the museum!! It was a hoot and a half! Take a moment to read about the Titanic memorial. Walk the streets and imagine what it would have been like when the historic buildings... More

A little slice of history - The Musuem although small, offers a glimpse into the past along the waterfront. You can visit the Print Museum and step aboard the 'Wavertree' a historic full masted ship. There are modern retailers in the old market hall. For a great coffee visit 'Jacks'.
