We had pre-purchased tickets and the only time we could go was very rainy and cloudy. The super helpful and friendly staff are sure we understood there would be no view on this particular evening, but we had to use the tickets. It was actually very fun, and the misty, cloudy deserted observation deck was very beautiful in an eerie... More

A must see while in NYC. We took our family here the first night we were in the city and our girls thought it looked magical. It is worth a visit even if you are not skating and a New York landmark.

We took the tour then went to the observatory. Both were absolutely terrific. The tour guide (I hae forgotten his name) was excellent - very dry sense of humour and very knowledgeable about the history of the development of the plaza. Then we went to the top of the rock. The views from the 3 levels of observatory were incredible... More

I couldnt wait to make a visit to the Rockefeller Center during the post Christmas time. Unfortunately, the Christmas tree had been taken down, but there were still lights everywhere. The ice-skating rink is just as it is seen on the TV! Really a beautiful place to visit and of course, you must go up to the Top of the... More

Rockefeller Center puts together some of the great things NYC has to offer. In the winters, the ice skating rink is a fun activity. They also have lots of great restaurants and stores underground and nearby.

A must see! We loved it here, the ice rink, and the huge Christmas tree and the center itself. It was a beautiful place to visit and capture lots of photos and memories.

We needed to view the rink but we were not interested in skating. It seems that the rink was rather full and more symbolic of skating not the real effort.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
