Look up, enjoy the view. Go inside- the lobby is splendid. If you can use the elevators to a floor or two you will appreciate the design and really it is art work in the Deco style. Floors are distinctive, different. Good views from top floors.

Just go!! If you're in New York why wouldn't you visit this iconic building. Access to the viewing area can be variable so best check first but still a great building, just ride the lifts ☺

If you watch the facade from Bryant Park at dusk you are treated to spectacular sight as the sun sets - the top turns to a brilliant gold. Then walk down to look in the lobby (open even when the office building is closed). Wonderful example of Art Deco style.

The Chrysler building is my favorite building in NYC. It's no wonder it figured heavily in Fritz Lang's Metropolis when he envisioned his world of the future . It is beautiful to gaze upon day or night.

There is not a prettier building in this town. It is right across the street from grand central station.

Actually named after Walter Chrysler, who built it with his own money, rather than the Car company he owned, the building and the cheeky spire at the top that technically made it taller than the Empire State building and thus the tallest building in New York for a few months is difficult to see well from the outside, as it... Just an iconic part of the NYC skyline, th Chrysler Building is just beautiful to look at from the outside and a wonderful view on the inside as well. Wander around the lobby, reading the various plaques and designations to get a little history of this building. No specific attraction within the confines of the building, but the Chrysler is... This building was one building my daughter just had to see, it is hard to get a good look at with all the other tall buildings around it but it was still great to be able to see it up close.

Clearly this is a skyscraper unlike any other, in my view the most beautiful in New York. It screams 'art deco' from its gargoyles and the views and the details are amazing.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
