A great lesson on Dark Matter and the Big Bang Theory. Visually outstanding film, geological selection and a unique gift shop

We had to stand in line for tickets but security was a breeze; not so for the Museum of Natural History around the corner. We bought a combo ticket and saw the show in the planetarium (enjoyed it a lot); went through the "Butterfly Conservatory"...More

We were really excited to see the (relatively new) planetarium show. The visuals were great, and the theater was comfortable and spacious. But the show itself was very abstract, focusing on dark matter and dark energy. It didn’t give the viewer any sense of where...More

The Dark Universe space show is really good - both kids and adults love it. Unfortunately, there's not much to see besides the space show - meteorites and other rocks can't compete with the dinosaurs in the adjacent AMNH...

Expensive if you want to see the shows. We saw 3 extras/exhibitions/shows, Oceans, Neil DeFrasse Tyson, and walked through the butterflies. Fun day for everyone. Be sure to do the free video at the machine on the first floor. It takes your photo like you...More

Dark Universe. Skip it!! I love science, Neil Degrasse Tyson is the man, but this show was awful. Don't even think about bringing children. Dark Universe is a star show that acts as a guide to dark matter, multiverses, and the theoretical, size of the universe....More

I took my brother and husband here; my husband loves planetarium and we were already in the museum. It's huge! There wasn't a laser light show, it was a presentation about dark matter, dark energy, the observable universe. I wouldn't take small children, but teens...More

This wasn't what I was expecting. Hearing the word planetarium brought the image of constellations and lasers forth in a hilarious display of what I thought may be pseudo South Park way. Instead, we saw an enormous blue screen that turned into the visible spectrum...More

We were a group of 10 from ages 13 to 77 and "Dark Universe" abysmally failed at educating, teaching, communicating. Of course, Tyson's booming voiceover is impressive and the pop! bang! of the otherwise-boring sky visuals keeps you (literally) awake, but they're meaningless to learn...More

Think of it as an IMAX for a show about space with really comfortable seats. The show is not long, but always interesting. Subjects vary over time. Look to see what is the current offering.
