A band or busker playing in the covered arches or street performer dancing around. It’s like a must see when you’re visiting NY and it’s not too far into the park which is vast, the further in you go the less people you’ll see & you’ll soon forget you’re even in a massive city!Visited October 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 19 October 2023

It is definitely worth taking time to admire the intricate carvings on the pillars as well as the area beneath the road. To me it had the feel of an Italian cathedral with beautiful paintings across the walls and ceilings. It was a really beautiful experience and helped to make my visit to Central Park very special.Visited October 2023Travelled soloWritten 20 December 2023

The terrace was constructed in the 1860s and is one of the oldest structures in the park. The Angels of the Waters statute in the Bethesda Fountain (also known as the Friends Fountain from the popular TV show) was unveiled in 1873. This is a beautiful area and stays quite lively usually with street performers and musicians throughout the day. It's a great spot to sit and soak up the atmosphere of this amazing city park.Visited May 2023Travelled soloWritten 8 April 2024

When we visited there were a group of seniors playing classic music; it was beautiful. The fountain is really impressive. The arquitecture with all the little details is something to admire. You can easily spend a few hours here. The whole place is awesome for pictures.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 15 April 2024

A visit to Central Park is not complete until you've paid a visit to Bethesda Terrace. We visited on the snowy Monday afternoon after Thanksgiving 2019, and it made for a peaceful spot. Particularly pretty in the snow, even if it was bitterly cold!

This is such a pretty place not to be missed if visiting Central Park. My 10 year old daughter immediately recognized it from Home Alone 2. There were multiple people taking pictures with photographers. Such a neat place to see because of seeing it in movies but it’s really just a beautiful structure to see on its own.

You see this place on so many films and tv shows and you expect it to be smaller like so many things are in real life but it actually was as big as expected. It is busy with tourists, which is expected. Everyone seems to be patient and take turns with getting photos. There are lots of buskers in the area. But dont be fooled into thinking the horse drawn carriages go into this area because of the film Home Alone 2. Nice place to relax and take in the sights.

One of the most beautiful parts of Central park, seen in so many movies.
The Bethesda terrace with great views of the fountain and park, street performers and few snack/drink stalls.
Do descend down and walk the arcaded passageway with magnificent tile work.

We came over in July from Northern Ireland and had a great time.
It's a really lovely area and a must in CP. We walked from the Plaza Hotel to here, seeing some of CP's best spots on the way. It's an absolute must in the City

Bethesda Terrace in Central Park is one of the iconic places in New York. It is well known thanks to movies like Home Alone 2 and others. If you are a movie fun, it's a must see place. If not, it's still important place to see thanks to breath-taking landscape and romantic scenery. Definitely worth to go there!
