Great place fir hiking, picnicking, swimming in a cold natural pool under a water fall. The picnic area was originally built by the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps). You can visit year around and really enjoy what nature has to offer

This is an unexpected oasis in the middle of nowhere. Falls are beautiful and its a great place to take a dip. The shelters provide a great spot for lunch. Signs seemed to indicate that the annual pass does not cover the fee for this...More

The falls area was beautiful and the staff very helpful in planning out our day of hiking the area. Definitely give this place a visit, you'll be very pleased!

It was a long drive from our campsite but one of the prettiest spots we’ve been to. It’s not easy to find as our GPS, iPhone and Garmin all gave us different directions. The route we took was not clearly marked and we went by...More

We went to this wonderful spot as a side trip to the Caverns. It was well worth the trip (about an hour) to see a truly unique feature in this area. The falls were totally accessible by either a paved trail to the viewing area...More

In early October our family took the remote drive out to Sitting Bull Falls. It's about an hour from the town of Carlsbad and if you take the route directly from Carlsbad Caverns, you will feel sure you are going nowhere. Much to our surprise,...More

This place is a hidden gem! It’s off the beaten path, like most things near Carlsbad. You do end up going down some lonely country roads for miles and miles. The last one being a gravel top. But....that road pulls you into a majestic mountain...More

This is a must do if your in the area. We stayed at Brantley lake and it has hookups and a great view of the lake.

From the parking area I wouldn't consider it a hike. If you go down to the bottom it's a short walk on a walkway. If you go up it's a walk up a trail. Maybe quarter mile each way.
