Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We've been visiting the Plaza area for over 35 years now, and the recent improvements are wonderful. Last week the fountain was surrounded with beautiful blooming dahlias. Many more tables have been added, giving the area a more European atmosphere. There are just 2 negatives: more coffee and snack carts are needed that operate throughout the day, and evening during the summer, and the asphalt surface needs regular power washing to remove spilled drink stains. This is done in Spain, and needs to be part of the maintenance here.

We were walking through Balboa park and came across the beautiful fountain. I felt like I was back in Spain with the beautiful architecture and design of many buildings in the park- especially this fountain.

The Plaza de Panama is truly wonderful now that car parking is removed from the plaza and neutered to the people of San Diego and the world. You can sit here and people watch or take a break from all the wonderful Museums in Balboa Park. The are a few Food stands where you can get drinks or Hot Dogs.

This is a beautiful fountain, located in the center of Panama square within Balboa park.
The fountain is decorated with beautiful tiles which are well worth a look.

We returned to Balboa Park. We enjoyed going to the museums, having lunch, and also seeing this historic fountain - Plaza de Panama Fountain. Its is from the Panama exposition that was held there.

When visiting the park, this is a great place to rest your feet, maybe have a snack or a drink. It's a very pretty fountain, surrounded by some great architecture. Just a pleasant spot for a break before visiting all those museums. There's just something about water features...

This lovely fountain is located in the middle of Plaza de Panama, a beautiful plaza surrounded by the architecture from the 1915 Expo. Great place to sit, rest, and relax.

Located in the Plaza de Panama the fountain is quite interesting and pretty and definitely a place to visit when in Balboa Park. The bus back to San Diego leaves from just below the area.

The fountain itself is beautiful, no doubt. But it is the location at the heart of Balboa Park which makes it so worth the visit. It is hard to imagine it was once a parking lot. Now it is a vibrant spot with energy and beauty and charm surrounded by gorgeous architecture. Loved it.
