It was our first outing to Liberty Station. We were really focused on the Market having heard about the array of food and drinks available. It certainly held its own. It was hard to determine which ethnic foods. were not represented. We opted for argentine crusine coupled with several locally brewed beers (the beer selection was literally endless). It was... Historic area that is nice to walk around. Impossible to find a single source list of restaurants, stores, features, in area. We asked at our hotel and only found a couple of really nice restaurants after walking and driving extensively.

This is an amazing place. There are museums, all kinds of shops and restaurants, the historical side of the Naval Training Center, beautiful places to walk to see fountains, grassy areas and the bay. Plus the Rock Church and school, Hi Tech High, hotels, and lots of businesses. I think there is still a golf course too. I happen to... More

The site of the old Naval Training Center (bootcamp). Now it has lots of trendy restaurants. Parking is decent definitely a big tourist draw. Worth a look with out of town guests.

As the planes took off overhead we so enjoyed walking the beautifully renovated Liberty Station. The market was full of very interesting places to eat, and we did! Excellent choice of Mexican food and very helpful service. There was a great deal to see, bakeries, cheese sellers, butchers, fishmongers, flowers and crafts as well as a wide selection of cafes... Liberty Station, is a bit like Balboa Park in that the grounds are well groomed and there are museums to visit and lots of places to eat. This is where the similarities end. We used GPS to get there but it directed us to park blocks away from the Liberty Public Market, which is where we really wanted to be... More

This is an excellent place to spend some hours walking through a historic US Navy base station and park with arts, lots of food, and the original barracks housing shops and arts centers. The park is beautiful and you can see the commander's office and wander the beautiful grounds.

Liberty Station is a mass complex of Navy historical buildings intermingled with new homes and schools on what used to be the Naval Training Center, San Diego. There is much to see and do from unique shops to a myriad of restaurants. It can be a fun time for the whole family. Plenty of park space right on the San... More
