Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

In San Diego, there are so many things to do...but don't overlook Little Italy. The area is loaded with restaurant and bar choices. It would take a year to go to every one. The air smells like heaven. There is a spot for every budget. Go for breakfast, lunch, dinner or dessert. Plan to EAT! The neighborhood is quaint and very romantic. Many, many outside patios. The vibe is buzzing with activity or quaint and romantic. Choose your experience. Wear walking shoes, Little Italy is big enough to walk off your decadent meal!

There is some good food, though there are so many restaurants it's hard to choose where to go. On weekends it is pretty crowded, you can barely walk on the sidewalk.

By reading reviews online I was under the impression that Little Italy was somehow "fancier" than Gaslamp, but I found the opposite, I would describe Little Italy more "cozy" since everything is more tight together and crowded. Gaslamp is more spacious and most restaurants feel like a better a level up from Little Italy.

Lots of places to enjoy the Italian lifestyle- lunch, dinner, wine and dessert. We enjoyed the farmer’s market on Saturday (crowded by neat) which runs morning to early afternoon. We ate dinner at Fillipi’s and lunch in the “food hall” by the piazza area.

This was a poppin' neighborhood of trendy cafes, restaurants, boutiques and music. Pasta! Pasta! Pasta! We were able to enjoy authentic Italian food sitting at an outside patio with the sun starting to set, near perfect weather, and people watching galore. This was the cherry on top of our "San Diego Day of Play".

I agree overrated and over priced. Everything closes at 9pm. NOT ITALY. All I wanted at 8:30 pm on a nice San Diego evening was an espresso for me and my wife and some gelato for my son while walking the streets of America's finest city NO NO NO not one place or if they did have espresso and gelato they were closing. Save your money and just visit Italy. I like Rome (late night espresso) but Fiorenza is .Bellissima

Plenty of great food choices in this neck of town, along with some photo ops. Parking can be tricky, so be patient. We also visited on a day when the open air market was taking place. Plenty of vendors, local food, succulents, and musicians performing. Be sure to stop for lunch. We loved Filippi's Pizza Grotto and it was delicious. They have a little Italian grocery store in the front of the store and the restaurant is in the back.

Lots and lots of American Italian food! Kinda of bummed that it has been Americanized! Wish it was more authentic. I know that most owners are legit Italian, but they are still arranging their menus to meet the American taste buds.

Little Italy is mainly centred around India street and is a few blocks of restaurants and bars. We picked a couple to go into randomly and they were ok, we thought service and beers were good in Bolt brewery and the pizza ok is a nearly restaurant.

I would recommend going at happy hour for the best prices. Plus less crowded.

We happened to visit Little Italy on the day of their Farmers Market. The place was packed and there were some interesting booths. The shops and restaurants in the area looked interesting. Some of the history of the area, and the decline of tuna fishing is quite interesting.

We stayed really close but didn't discover it till we were almost leaving! Saturday morning though there was a 3 block open market that was really fun. Morning Glory is a breakfast/lunch retaurant that is in Little Italy and is very popular and a very fun place to go and eat. You may have a bit of a wait. But it is worth it.
