The View from Torrey Pines

We were visiting San Diego and our daughter took us on a short road trip to Torrey Pines. The landscape...the ocean views...the whole park was an experience to be enjoyed.

Went along some of the trails and had fun watching the hang gliders along the coast, Gorgeous views and a great place to stretch the legs

My Advice, is to pay the $ to drive to the top, and hike to the cliffs and the beach. make sure to wear comfortable sneaks or shoes, because it is a hike. And may still have small crevices on walking path. But the views are amazing.

Torrey Pines has numerous trails to choose from but when we were there in April 2017 the longest one was closed for repairs. This meant that the other trails were very crowded on a Sunday morning, and that there weren't many loops - most are out and back. Overall lovely views and a nice place to go for a walk.

I work out here on a regular basis and the views of the cliffs and the Pacific never get old for me. Different light conditions at various times of the day create such dramatic seascapes that this place is a photographer's dream. As often as I come here I almost always stop and take a few photos along the trails.... More

Short drive from San Diego will get you to the lovely coastal state park along highway 101. There is plenty of areas to park here but the best is the official parking lot near the beach. At the time of our visit one had to pay $10 honor system to the ticket vending machine. There are trails up from the... More

We went early in the morning and the hiking trails weren't too crowded. It was a challenging hike but the views are spectacular. Would definitely recommend.

I'm a NYC boy, born and raised, so hiking is not necessarily part of my lexicon but this place sure makes it a pleasure to hike... by offering great rewards, (read breathtaking views). Some trails seemed more difficult than others but overall this was not difficult hiking and, although I recommend wearing hiking shoes or sneakers, I managed to get... More

Torrey Pines is on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The area is criss-crossed with hiking trails. Most are easy to moderate. You can see the native Torrey pines as well as lots of desert vegetation. Be prepared for large crowds. Parking on top of the bluff is very limited, but there is more parking at the bottom by the... Let's start off by saying I'm in no way a hiker. But this place took my breath away and was pretty easy to hike:) inclined, yes but not rocky or dangerous in my opinion. Stunning views and trails. Gorgeous seabirds and flowers. Be sure to find the trail that leads all the way down to the beach! Heavenly!
