Noticed that people are confusing SOUTH Carlsbad State Beach (campsite on the beach) and Carlsbad State Beach (camping NOT allowed). Both beaches are incredible but do beware of rocks, n coastal erosion. There is public access through the campsite so if you're jogging, biking, or...More

I get a kick out of fussy people complaining over a beautiful beach and breathtaking water. They should go to Disneryland instead. I wish they would, it leaves more beach for me:)

Stayed in a camp spot on the beach. Very beautiful. The spots are big enough to fit a 32 foot RV and we had room for another pick up truck, tent, tables and camp fire. The restrooms and showers are clean. The beach was clean...More

It is $15 for parking all day. There were individual toilets that you use as changing areas but the showers and sinks were turned off due to the drought. The beach was crowded, and there was seaweed everywhere. We found a place near the cliffs...More

Campsites are clean, bathrooms & showers are used heavily so can get grimy at night but are cleaned daily. My husband calls this 'entry level camping', good for people who haven't ever or don't camp much because there are stores and civilization nearby, and bathrooms/showers...More

I lived in Carlsbad for over a year, and this beach has got one of the most breath taking views I have ever seen. Perhaps it's because I am familiar with it. Drive on the 101 and you will gaze on this beautiful beach. Always...More

Absolutely loved this place, sad it is so popular. Hard to get reservations, we tried 6 months in advance and could only get 5 nights, but well worth it.
