This musrum is quite relaxing when I entered to see the exhibits . There was spacious for my looking to amaze how photographers creat their works. It 's just 2 storeyed so no need physical demands too much. The museum shop is also advisedly to visit.

Small but spacious, MoPA boasts some very intriguing collection photos and surprisingly remarkable exhibitions. Don't forget to visit their store. A definite must for every visitor to Balboa Park.

This museum is very small and a little to offer. It has some pictures from not so famous photographers, but only a couple of rooms. Way overpriced for the visit.

This is a small museum with a few exhibits. It is one of the smallest museums of photography that I have been in. It had three exhibits. Each exhibit with a medium sized collection. What they had was nice but I was disappointed in the size. The entrance is paid by donation.

MOPA that has a prominent place on the Prado in Balboa Park currently has admittance by your donation. In addition to special shows, such as Animals and Humans in celebration of the 100th birthday of the SD zoo that will soon be replaced by an exhibit on Abstract Photos, you can browse in their book/gift shop or participate in one... The fee is donation-based, you can pay $5 per person. The exhibits are small but enough to pique your interest. Some really interesting photographs. Some just okay. It is the only museum in the park that is open till late (8 pm)

OK as a film photographer and darkroom printmaker I'm biased but IMHO this is a must visit when in San Diego. Set in the wonderful museum area in Balboa Park once you leave there is great food on hand. You pay what you can afford on entry and boy what great exhibitions. Beauty and the Beast was showing all eclectic... More

With a suggestion it should be $5 (see photo). It is worth a look but nothing to get too excited about - there are better things to do in Balboa Park.

We were staying at a downtown hotel within walking distance of an art museum. It was closed due to setting up a new exhibit. We went to Balboa Park to see the art museum there. Luck of the draw, it was day they were normally closed. Walked over to MOPA...pay what you like to enter...nice. Very pleasant experience looking at... More

It's really small - there's only 3 (maybe 4?) display rooms. The first one you enter is almost entirely topless women (mostly fully exposed). I guess that's cool if you're a teenage boy or think that shock value = art. My Dad has a saying about photography - most pictures look halfway decent when they're blown up to be a... More
