We spent a day visiting the San Diego old town. If you get there early enough, there is plenty of free parking. Our first visit was into the Whaley House. Not very big but interesting to learn what it has been used for such, as a courthouse. It was a self guided tour but the guy at the door was... More

I took the tour yesterday with my wife. I didn't want to scare anyone but when I went upstairs in the bedroom furthest from the theatre room, my nose started to bleed pretty good. I've never had a nosebleed problem in my life. I'm 30 years old. Anyways, I didn't want to scare some of the folks in my group... More

So this was supposed to be a day of adventure and it sure was. Wasn't expecting to check it out but did and it created me out. I'd say it's something you have to do when you're in San Diego but I don't think I'd go again. Very interesting though.

We visited Whaley House on a Tuesday and unfortunately they don't offer guided tours on this day, but they offer self-guided tours. It was only $8 and it is a very interesting part of History. Even though it was a self-guided tour there was an employee who offered us a lot of extra information on the history of the house.... More

I wouldn't bring a child under the age of 8 or 9 on this tour, but it wasn't too scary. Overall very enjoyable and a fun area of town

I'm not one to believe in the paranormal, but there is something that just isn't quite right in the Whaley House. It's a little spooky and I definitely wouldn't go closer to dark. But if that's your thing, go for it. The staff was passionate about what they do and were friendly and helpful. Sometimes at these tourist attractions the... More

The staff dressed in period clothing was friendly, knowledgeable made the experience come to life. As we walked through on a self guided tour there was always someone there to answer questions and add a ghost story along with the homes history. Fun and different thing to do in Old Town.

Wouldn't go out of my way to come here yet it's got a pretty interesting story. Again, don't have too many expectations about this place before coming here. It's "OK". Nothing to write home about but if you're here already take a stroll down the streets and maybe stop and have a drink or two. Pretty good Mexican food in... More

Visited at twilight, because we were there & it was included on our "Go" pass for San Diego. The historic building is worth a stop if you happen to be in Old Town, but don't go out of your way. Supposedly the night time tours are more interesting with "sphere" sightings.

The staff was very knowledgeable and gave first hand experiences of paranormal experiences in this house. Fun to see how people lived back in the day
