Went on a dome tour with my family. Lots of steps but it was worth it. Felt like we accomplished something when we got to the top. Was a great memory to made with my family! I hope my grandkids will always remember it!

Visited here on a Sunday and basically had all of downtown Topeka to ourselves. Unfortunately, the Capitol is closed on Sunday, but the grounds are beautiful and the building is interesting. We'll have to stop by again when it's open.

On the guided tour, yes. The spiral staircase takes you all the way to the outer dome.

They are open 8am to 1pm. Go to the Kansas Historical Society website. for more info. Definitely take the dome tour.

8-5 Monday Friday and mornings on Saturday but dome tours only on weekdays....about six tours each day from 9:15 and the every hour after that.
