Thoroughly enjoyed our leisurely drive on the parkway. Beautiful countryside. Be sure you have adequate gas or pay close attention to location of service stations since this is not a typical commercial drive.

If you're not in a hurry, I recommend this driving experience. Very pretty drive. 50 MPH speed limit. Way nicer than dealing with traffic & 18 wheeler's.

Can't drive fast, can't miss markers, can't get bored, can't stay in the car: gotta get out and explore and learn. Great fun for the whole family.

I've taken a million rides down the trace it seems. It's always a good place to get out and clear your head. Whether hiking or riding it's a great place with some great history.

Hardly any traffic and lots of places to stop for a nice walk or short mini hike. You can also just take the parkway to get from one today to the next, don't miss the history! They're is even a Junior Ranger program.

We drove from New Orleans to Tupelo Mississippi to pick up the trace. From there we drove it for about 120 miles, which for us was enough. It is really beautiful scenery, with historical sites to get out stretch your legs and view. Our destination...More

We drove on the Natchez Trace for about 140 miles through Mississippi - what a beautiful, peaceful drive. It isn't the fastest route but if you're willing to take a little bit of time it is well worth the slower pace. There are plenty of...More

My husband and I are traveling the full length of the Trace in 3 days. Our National Park Service has done a wonderful job with the budget it is given to keep up our national treasures. Beginning at the Nashville end, we agree that the...More

Hi, unfortunately we do not have time to take it easy driving up the Trace since we will be in the US only for 10 days and have too much to see! Looking at the postings, I am now starting to wonder if it makes sense at all to drive from New Orleans to around Jackson, MS in one day or if it is just too much and we should just give up and take the highway... thanks in advance for your views.

There are many beautiful homes in Natchez. The drive from the southern terminus of the trace in Natchez to Jackson can be done in about 3 hours if you don't stop much. You definitely do want to stop at Mt Locust, Owens... More
Where do I get this driving map? We will not be hiking, biking or on horseback. I've been told we can drive it in a car.

Go to the visitor center and get your map before you start the drive or you could look it up on line and see if you could get it that way. I hope that it helped you out some.
A milepost map or locator of all stops we should make traveling south to north on the Trace. We have a week to do this and will be doing both bicycling and hiking. We will be traveling alone so will be biking out and back and would like to know the best 10-25 mile rides round trip. If you know who or where I could get this information I would be greatly appreciative. Thanks in advance
