We have taken various hop on hop off tours all over the world. This tour is good and fun but pricey. Our tour included a harbor cruise and reduced price tickets to the Boston Tea Party Museum but we were unable to take advantage of either due to the short duration of the trolley's operation, it stops running at 5... Friendly driver and wonderfully informative and humorus commentary. Good way to get an overview of Boston and then deciding where to return for more detailed viewing. Good deals with tickets often giving a second day free. Well recommended

I bought a 2-day Go Boston pass. And on the 2nd day, the voucher is no longer on the app. The trolley is nowhere near as good as the alternatives in Boston (no fenway, no cambridge, half the stops as the others). The app is the worst I've seen. No easy access to see what we're allowed to visit. No... More

Hello CKTerry, My name is John Welby and I am the General Manager of Old Town Trolley Tours of Boston. I am sorry to hear you had a bad experience while visiting Boston, however, I feel you may have us confused with another trolley company. Old Town Trolley does not have any affiliation with the "Go Boston" pass or their... More

Excellent way of seeing the city and also getting around the city. We used the Old Trolly buses over 2 days and were able to use them to genuinely see the City, hop on and off to see attractions and then use them to simply ride back to our hotel. Our first day in Boston it rained heavily and the... More

Last week, my former college roommates and I spent the day in Boston and got tickets for this. Our first guide had only been on the job 3 weeks and was great. The weather wasn't so we just kept riding! He was knowledgeable and held our interest. We hopped off at Quincy Market for lunch. The next 2 guides were... More

Our driver, Bunker, did a great job. He spoke clearly and obviously was very knowledgeable about the city. He was pleasant but not too "jokey". This will give you an overview and show you places you may want to return if you have time. We got off and back on one time to shop and have lunch. That worked out... More

This is a pretty good way to see all of Boston. Not only do the drivers give good history facts about the places you see on the tour but this one allows you to hop off and on at different sites. Altogether there are about 16 stops including Paul Revere park, Boston tea party, MIT, USS Constitution, Faneuil Hall Marketplace,... More

Due to cancelled flights, had a surprise day in Boston so took advantage to do some sight seeing. The hop- on-hop-off tour was excellent covering major historic sites with ability to get off where you wanted. Drivers were knowledgeable and quite entertaining. Ticket also included a harbor tour. Great Value!!!

I mainly chose this tour because of the hop on hop off feature and because it had Harvard/MIT on the list and I thought that would be an interesting stop. The drivers, who were also the tour guides, were good at what they do. They were very informative. As someone with mobility issues, my disappointment was the fact that the... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
