The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Seaport District / South Boston Waterfront
This area has been expanding and becoming more and more popular, for good reason. Not surprisingly, the seaport district of South Boston is located beautifully along the water. The area is designed for easy strolling along the HarborWalk, and there are bars and restaurants for all ages and budgets. The Institute of Contemporary Art is located in this area in a contemporary building with an absolutely stunning deck overlooking the water. In the summer time there are Friday music concerts on the deck of the museum. Nearby, there are many green spaces to enjoy.
How to get there

If you love the idea of a speakeasy, this place is for you. If you don’t know the place exists, you won’t know. You walk in and go down the stairs and enter into a brick walled building with a bar. That’s it. They give you the menu and it entails beer and wine. If you want a drink that’s anything other than that....that is what you tell them. I am a vodka girl. So I told the bartender( Will) I liked vodka drinks, but not too sweet. That’s all he needed to hear. He made me a drink called “The bees knees”. I had two of those and then told him to I love it but surprise me with something a little larger on the next one. He made me a “Charlie Chaplin”. Amazing. Then, my best friend (who was drinking whiskey drinks) said she liked her last drink but wanted to be surprised. I also told him I wanted to be surprised as well. Ten minutes later, here comes my great grandmothers crystal bowl with two straws in it and a ton of mint sticking out from the top. He made a big ass whiskey sour and also included vodka in it for me. It was friggin’ amazing. If you have the chance to go, please do. The service is impeccable and the fact that you’re giving the bartenders a chance to be creative and. It just make the same old drink is so fun!!!

Wow. What a gem in this neighborhood. We stopped in right at 4pm on a Friday and snagged a prime seat. They have a great bar set up with individual pods run by their own bartender. Service was efficient, and our bartender was knowledgeable and personable. She created a few handcrafted cocktails based on loose descriptions of drinks we liked, and she knocked it out of the park. We tried the pimento cheese app and the mushroom crostini - both were delicious! It’s pricy, but on par with other bars in the area. The ambiance and craft cocktails make it worth every penny. I’d gladly stop back by next time I’m in the area!

Nice place for a cocktail. Speakeasy style. You tell em what you like , they make a cocktail that you will no doubt appreciate.
Jackie is a mixologist and she is very attentive to making perfection for your palate. I recommend Penicillin by Jackie.

Went after work with colleagues in from France. Atmosphere was neat, staff friendly. Bartender asked what flavor we were in the mood for and recommended a drink...I ended up with raspberry margarita that was very good. We shared fries that were EXCELLENT, and one person had a burger which he said was outstanding. Trendy but casual and calm.

Gotta give chef Barbara Lynch some credit: She's got a Italian cafeteria-style restaurant above (Sportello), and a French Relais and Chateaux restaurant next door (Menton.) What to do with the basement? Make a cocktail lounge! The crowd is young...and willing to wait longer than a kid for a Disney ride. The end result can often be a let-down. No drink menu. No bottles of booze to be seen anywhere. So you tell the guy what you like and invariably, he just gives you a house drink that's "sort of like that." Sorry, but I'm old school...a good 35 years older than the oldest person in here. I want to talk about bourbon brands. I want to see if they have something I've never tried before. I want to discuss sweet vermouths when ordering a Manhattan. Not what this place is about. Now mthat I've been there, I've done that.

Enjoyed our time - cool place/good drinks/great fries, hummus, muffuletta....appeared a little stuffy at first but waiter wound up being awesome. A lot of drink mixups amongst my party - wrong drink to wrong person - not awful but confusing. Would definitely return but would by no means wait to get in.

Like to be waiting in a starway line for 50 minutes? Then go!
Like to be able to be treated like normal person? Reserve someplace else.
We could not do a reservation and a 50 minute line was before us.
Went someplace else.

Went to the Drink for the first time on a first date. Got seated within a few minutes. They don't have a menu you just tell them what you like and the bartenders make you a drink. Drinks are strong but delicious! Food was absolutely delicious!
They dim the lights too which makes the atmosphere romantic. It is a cool place, entertaining watching the bartenders they are amazing. Staff very friendly.
Parking may be difficult, valet people leave at 10pm I was told so ended up parking in the street.
Would definitely go back!

The bartenders, or mixologists, make this place. Each drink they made for me and my boyfriend was perfect. A little pricey, but well worth it. Food was also excellent.
