Most recent reviewers deplore the new setting which is bland and corporate feeling. But as someone who had to sit behind a pole in the old setting, the new venue on the first floor seems like an improvement. The price for a glass of wine is much too much and the Mediterranean plate is too skimpy. So have a beer... More

My recent visit to Scullers was my first jazz club experience and didn't disappoint. The act were brilliant, the service was good, the room was a little 'corporate' but it was in a Hilton so I understand. I had a fabulous time!

Went to see Linda Eder tonight. Amazing!! However the new venue is not so great. Scullers has lost that close intimate feel. The new venue feels more like a cruise ship than a jazz club. It's unfortunate. Hard to see the performers. Lights are too bright before the show.

The old room on the second floor had an upscale, jazz club vibe. Despite "the dreaded pole" it had nice windows, beautiful woodwork and a unique Boston charm. I have been to many USA competitors and the old Scullers "WAS" #1 IMHO. The new room is sterile and feels like a small function hall or conference room pretending to be... More

Used to be a regular at Scullers. Had been away a while but came for a performance earlier this month, which was my first time in the new downstairs venue. What a horrid disappointment! The original upstairs room had some real warmth and character, but the new downstairs room has all the charm of a dental office. Problems: 1. The... More

This was by far my favorite place to see a show for years! Fred Taylor does a fabulous job booking the room, but since the hotel chain took over, it has gone down hill. The woman seating people is downright rude and literally pushed the buyer out of the way while we were speaking - you cannot move in your... More

Attended a show last night at Sculler's; our first time at the venue. Overall seating was tight as you might expect, but not cramped. Decent sight lines to the stage. Staff was friendly. I found the drink prices to be a bit on the pricey side and you will pay at least $10 for parking in the garage. Also, if... More

We have been to Scullers many times. Always enjoyed the venue, felt like an old time 40s club...now it's moved downstairs in what seems like an old conference room. Atmosphere is gone. Squeezed into tables. Because venue is larger people in the back feel they can talk out loud and disturb the show. Waitress service was very slow. Heat was... More

Scullers has moved from the warm, intimate space upstairs to a bland, windowless lobby-level space. Gone is the charming welcome; it's a bit frantic now. The new club looks like it seats more people than the original, and it feels impersonal. Friday night, there was a large birthday party in the back of the club during the show. The roughly... More

Scullers Jazz Club has been presenting some of the top names in jazz for more than 25 years. The music is first-rate, the setting is attractive, seating is comfortable (although somewhat tightly packed - but that adds to the excitement), and the club serves food (pretty good, not great) and drinks of course. Validated parking is available as well. If... More
