We've been up in a few lighthouses and this is the only one I recall where you are standing next to the Fresnel Lens. Wonderful visit to some of this country's maritime history.

Well... there's no other boats are allowed to the island. You, probably, can see it from the ferry, but if you want to go inside, you have to purchase a tour

I think those tours are available only on weekends. And even then it depends on weather and a bunch of other stuff! We, literally, tried to get there for 2 years! It's worth it, but it is a pain!
