This is just a walkway between the Old North Church and the statue of Paul Revere. There is a fountain in it, but it was turned off. This is nothing special. Don't go out of your way to see it.

We found our way to the Paul Revere Mall and were happy to see the statue of Pail Revere’s Midnight Ride. Unfortunately here was a lot of construction with safety gates and signs everywhere. Even Paul was marred by construction signs.

This mall has brick fencing on either side with memorials to people who served in different military wars. There are benches to sit along the way, and nice fountain.

I'm not sure if it was because I was getting really tired after a full day of touring, but I really enjoyed some peaceful moments in this Mall, laid out between the famous Old North Church and the less known but equally lovely St Stephen's Church in Boston's North End..

The walk (as I took it) began at the Old North Church. We were on our way to the Paul Revere house and an arrow pointed us to it - otherwise I'd not have known the Mall existed. It was a hotter than usual day and I first just welcomed the shade, then realized I was strolling along a very lovely "lane" lined by trees, and I took it slowly, lingering in it before once again tackling the Trail.

to the right of the church as you approach its main entrance is a museum and gift shop. I discovered that this was once a chapel (named for St Francis) belonging to a small group of Italian immigrants in the Waldensian sect. This is the reason that the beautiful greenery behind the Old North is called the St Francis of Assisi Garden. I am a very "lapsed" Catholic, but St Francis has always been one of my favorite saints, so this in itself was pleasing. A bit farther down the mall the name changes (or maybe both are used, not sure) to the Old North Garden. There I noticed an oddly glittering area on the left near a birdbath. I discovered this to be row upon row of dog tags, one each to commemorate those US military who had fallen in the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars wars. I found it quite moving.

Not far from the stirring memorial, in about the center of the mall, there is a lovely, simple fountain, where I recall hearing, for the only time during my short stay in Boston, birds chirping.

By this point you should be able to see a statue in the distance and beyond it at the end of the mall a church - St Stephen's, as already mentioned. A short stroll farther and you come to the statue, at first seeing the rear end of a horse - if you can't by this time guess the rider, for shame! It is of course an equestrian statue, and a very nice one, of Paul Revere, if I had to name one probably THE showpiece in the mall. By the way, before you head round to the front of the statue, have a look back - the Old North Church and the Mall are before you - a really lovely sight.

Only a few steps takes you out of the mall and onto the street, the sounds of traffic and the busy scurrying of residents and tourists. You should pay a short visit at least to St Stephen's, if for no other reason than that it might sustain the bucolic peace you found for a few minutes strolling the Paul Revere Mall.

We were disappointed with the amount of construction around this historic site but we also understand the need. The historical significance is worth the visit even with the construction 🚧.

Nice small plaza in the North End on the Freedom Trail. It is right behind the Old North Church and the Paul Revere House. It is essentially an easy way to walk to get to the Paul Revere sites at one end of the mall. It is shaded and would make a nice stop on a hot day.

We walked part of the Freedom Trail which is marked out by a red line on a guided tour. The Paul Revere Mall is close to The Old North Church and the St Stephen's Church and has a large statue of Paul Revere on his horse. Don't forget to check out the fountain at the other end. A nice place for a stop on your way to other places nearby.

At one end of the mall is the Old North Church and at the other end of the mall is the statue of Paul Revere on his horse. There is a fountain and benches where you can take a moment to sit and relax in the shade. On July 4 weekend, there were various demonstrations going on in the area.

We ended up walking though to the mall as we noticed the Statue standing tall in the middle of it. This is a very peaceful and quiet place to just sit back and relax for a few minutes.
