Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our guide was very knowledgeable about the North End and about the different pizza joints, even the ones we didn't go to. There was a good story for each pizza place. In fact, each historical site we passed, he also had a good story about, often times funny as well. It was a lot of walking but it was a nice day. And a good way to walk off 3 slices of pizza. Totally recommend this tour.

Our day trippers group had a private North End Pizza tour last Friday. As the tour states we met at Modern Pastry Underground and sampled several of their pizzas: pepperoni, veggie, margarita and cheese. Our tour guide Martin led us down the quaint streets of the North End and pointed out many historical landmarks. His knowledge of the area was remarkable. Our next stop was the original Regina pizza which we enjoyed in the park on a beautiful warm fall day. The Regina pizza lived up to its reputation and was enjoyed by all. Martin took us through more cobblestone streets and we viewed several famous and fun landmarks. Our last pizza stop was for a square, thick crust pizza on Hanover St. I’m not usually a fan of thick crust pizza but I fell in love after the first bite. From there we headed back to Modern where we received one of their delicious cannolis. I was beyond stuffed at this point but enjoyed this treat later in the evening. I highly recommend Martin and Boston Pizza Tours for any group or large family get-together.

The food and tour itself were awesome, definitely worth it! 4 stars because we didn't care for our tour guide's style. He never introduced himself, and was super casual/borderline unprofessional. He could have shared a little more history rather than just chit chat. He also walked very fast (he was tall, we are short) and wasn't aware of how far behind we got at times. You would think with a group of only 8 people total he'd realize half were still on the other side of the street.

The tour is definitely worth taking. The walk around the North End was very informative and packed with history and yummy pizza. However, at times it felt like the tour guide favored certain people in the group (directing the whole thing more at them than the whole group), couldn't shake of the feeling that this had to do with a little disdain for certain nationalities.

Took the North End Walking and pizza tour with Scotty Yesterday and it was Outstanding. Having been to Boston Previously I really hadn’t explored the North End and Little Italy other than The Freedom Trail. Scotty was a Great Guide giving Insight into not only the History of The North End and its sights but the Community that is Little Italy in Boston while tasting pizza from three local spots. Highly recommend Ernesto’s. Afterwards we were treated to a Cannoli from Modern Pastry. For those individuals looking for a great walking tour with a great slice and local History, look no further to Scotty and Boston Pizza Tours.

I would absolutely recommend this tour to everyone I know! I am a Massachusetts native and have been on several other Boston tours but this one was like no other. The sights we saw paired with the history we learned were fabulous. The tour guide Scotty was absolutely amazing in every way. He was so informative and his sense of humor really added to the tour. The tour would not have been the same without him!

Great tour! Martin was a great guide - funny, entertaining, very knowledgeable. The tour was the perfect mix of fun and learning. And the fact that it was officially a pizza tasting tour, made it easy to drag the kids along with no complaints!
