Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The North End Pizza Tour was exactly as advertised. The first pizza stop was pretty much right at the beginning of the tour, around 11:10 AM so make sure you don't have breakfast at 10 AM! We stopped at the second pizzeria around noon and our tour ended at the last pizzeria around 1 PM. By the time we had finished our slices, it had been 2.5 hours since we started. We had one slice of pizza at each of the first two stops but they brought out 4 pizzas for our group of 12 at the last stop. Plenty of food for everyone on the tour! We learned about the history of the North End from our guide Dave who had some interesting stories to tell. We saw the chocolate making demonstration at the Clough House and stopped at Old North Church for about 15 minutes right after. All in all, a very pleasant, relaxed and informative introduction to the history of Boston's Little Italy with delicious pizza along the way. Can't get much better than that given everything that's included in the price.

It's rare that we all love something, but this was it! Great time eating what my son called "the best pizza of my life", learning some history, and soaking up the atmosphere of the North End. Due to the pandemic, all of the restaurants had tables in the streets so it almost felt like we were really in Italy. Martin was super personable and could answer every question. Highly recommend this unique tour for visitors and locals.

Special note: We have multiple food allergies in our family. Martin went above and beyond, calling all of the restaurants to make sure we'd be safe. He even checked the pizza candy he gave us. Between the allergies and the pandemic, life can be tricky, but we felt 100% safe on all fronts.

Yes folks, come take a #NorthEndPizzaTour and find out why her son called this "the best pizza of my life" - and of course we agree! Pizza stops may include; an Award Winning Sicilian square, a Neapolitan style that Won "Best at Fest", pizza that TripAdvisor reviewers named "Best in America", or a slice called "One of the 500 Things YOU MUST EAT before you Die, plus all the history! Found only in Boston's North End my friend!! Just "do it" - we couldn't have said it better, thanks Momin...

Our day trippers group had a private North End Pizza tour last Friday. As the tour states we met at Modern Pastry Underground and sampled several of their pizzas: pepperoni, veggie, margarita and cheese. Our tour guide Martin led us down the quaint streets of the North End and pointed out many historical landmarks. His knowledge of the area was remarkable. Our next stop was the original Regina pizza which we enjoyed in the park on a beautiful warm fall day. The Regina pizza lived up to its reputation and was enjoyed by all. Martin took us through more cobblestone streets and we viewed several famous and fun landmarks. Our last pizza stop was for a square, thick crust pizza on Hanover St. I’m not usually a fan of thick crust pizza but I fell in love after the first bite. From there we headed back to Modern where we received one of their delicious cannolis. I was beyond stuffed at this point but enjoyed this treat later in the evening. I highly recommend Martin and Boston Pizza Tours for any group or large family get-together.

Unique fun! "Big Al" is an animated guide for 2.5 hours as you walk around the North End and sample pizza along the way. Pizzas are cheese, and your first slice is had within the first five minutes, and they're all quite good. History lovers will enjoy this tour, as well as pizza lovers. The pace isn't too fast and there are rest stops, and restrooms about halfway through. You'll see historical cemeteries and buildings along the tour route, such as Paul Revere's House, and Al will narrate the history.

Do not use Binge On Boston. We had a several hour layover in Boston and my son wanted to do the Boston Pizza Tour, so we booked it months in advance. The day before we arrived, we received an email confirmation of our tour. We arrived at the designated location several minutes before our start time. Several minutes after the start time, no one showed up. We called the number on the website and no one answered. We continued to wait and called again (now 20 minutes after the tour was set to start) and were simply told they were not going to run the tour that day. When I reminded him of the email confirmation, he said that was an automated system.

If you have unlimited time and can wait for days, this may be appropriate for you. If you want to be sure you have plans, choose another option.

Booked well in advance. They cancelled 3 hours before tour. Offered later in week but I had no time to rearrange my week. Sad. Didn’t offer me another tour in same day. Not cool. This was for the seafood tour.

Our would-be tour guide texted us 5.5 hours before our tour start time asking us to take an earlier tour because we were "the only ones and it would be more fun with more people." We responded that it would not be possible as we were not flying in until after the time the tour would start. With that, he CANCELLED our tour. Yes, he cancelled our tour leaving us with no time to regroup and perhaps find another activity. We were only in Boston a short time and were looking forward to learning about the city. I would not purchase tickets for this tour. You cannot count on it. (Note: The Pizza Tour has a 24-hour cancellation policy. Apparently they do not hold themselves to the same standard as they hold their customers.)

Our Pizza Tours are re-sold on many different websites - not all of them keep their info up-to-date. It's always recommended to look (and Book) on the Boston Pizza Tours website for the most up-to-date information.

The North End is a great place to eat. Why spend so much money for a disorganized tour that provided little useful information about the history or pizza of this charming part of the city? The tour leader showed up late and showed little interest in speaking loudly enough for the group to hear what he was saying. It wasn't until we got to the Old North Church that we began to learn something of interest (the tour guide at the Church was excellent--probably should have stayed for the extended tour there instead of trudging to restaurants that serve bland pizza.)

I recommend that tourists look on Trip Advisor for the best pizza restaurants in the North End and then go to each themselves. You'll save a lot of money (very little was provided in the cost of this tour--a slice of pizza at three restaurants and a cannoli--for $39 per person). Also, take the time to check out some of the great bakeries on the side streets--our tour guide only mentioned the ones that are the most frequented by tourists, and walked by good places without comment. Not sure he knew much about the North End.

Skip the review above! Not worth reading! This review was written by the same person wrote the April 3rd review. This person paid just $19 for their ticket through Living Social. 3 slices of Boston's best Pizza, 2+ hour tour with a local guide, plus a cannoli - all for just $19. I recommend tourists look on Trip Advisor for BOTH the least expensive food tour AND the highest rated food tour in Boston - you will find the truth.
