Neighbourhood: Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.

My wife, daughter, two friends and I visited the Copley Place Mall in November 2021. It was a nice mall to walk through. We arrived at Boston Back Bay Station and you can enter the mall across the street. You can walk through the mall and then cross over a footbridge to the Prudential Center Mall.

We stayed at the Westin Copley Place so I figured we'd have no choice but to check out the shops here. Very nice, upscale stores with lovely handbags & clothing. For most people who live in the real word, this is more of a "window shopping" type place, not like a typical mall, but still very nice & plenty of shops to see.

I did love the fact that it was attached to our hotel so on the rainy day that we had we didn't even have to go outside to enjoy a nice walk around. I did get annoyed with all the people who were practically running and pushing their way to get past people. Had to to ask one lady "really, what's the rush?" Felt like I was back in NYC for a second....nope, sorry still just Boston, can't compare.

I am glad that we checked it out though, good place to get some walking done especially if the weather isn't so great.

I had a very poor customer service experience at the Boston, Copley location and will never return. The store associates there were very rude. My name was on the wait list and when I inquired nearly an hour later the girl just dismissed me. I waited 2 hours just for them to service me for a wallet. By the time they got to me FOUR store associates kept asking each other if I was listed, if I had been helped, etc when I was flagging them down the whole time. It was a very irritating experience with terrible customer service. This was my first LV purchase and I wanted to purchase in store because I thought it would have been a memorable experience which was the exact opposite. It was a horrendous experience and it is now clear to me Louis Vuitton is just a silly label I could get better service at Forever 21 and the associates are actually decent human beings.

I am very, very annoyed about the fact that mall access is locked after midnight. I was attending a Convention at the Hynes and staying at the Westin. The access from the Hynes to the Westin is through the Prudential Mall, through an overpass over Huntington Avenue, through the Copley Place Mall, through another overpass over Stuart Street and finally in the Westin. This has been a known access for years. What was not known was that access is locked after midnight. There was no indication that the doors would be locked or any method to reach security. Programs at the Hynes finished up at 2AM, after the doors were locked.

Friday night I tried to return to my hotel room and crossed into the mall. I was parked in the LAZ parking garage in this mall and stopped to get something from the car. I ended up locked in the garage and couldn't return. A call on the emergency box went unanswered. Finally, after many tense minutes, someone entered the garage and I was able to leave. Then when I tried to go across the Stuart Street overpass, the doors were locked. By this time several attendees were gathered and did not know how to get back to the hotel. Doors to exit the mall were also locked - a clear fire hazard. We finally found a way out to the street. There is still a good amount of traffic after midnight in Boston and we had to navigate through all of this. Also, no one had any jackets or protective clothing to deal with the chilly, rainy weather. Saturday night I had the same run around. And note that guests at the Marriot, at the other end of the mall, were also locked out.

A company which compromises the safety of its patrons by locking them in or out has no business being here. I am particularly concerned about the difficulty exiting the mall because of locked doors. One day the place will catch fire and people will burn. Not good.

I spoke with the head of security and they will make sure that the doors will be left open for conventions, but only if they are made aware. Time will tell if this fix is put in place. But until that time, I recommend avoiding places which your safety is secondary.

High end stores only, very bougie type chic and not for the casual shopper. Kind of place where you kind of need to know what you want beforehand...

We stayed at the Marriott Copley and were delighted to find Legal Sea Foods in the Copley Place mall. It has a very nice bar with excellent service. They have the “lite” chowder which other Legal’s have dropped from their menu. It was absolutely delicious!! Please bring it back to Braintree and Burlington Mall!!! The fried Fisherman Seafood platter was worth every calorie!!!! So was the fried calamari Rhode Island style. Chocolate macaroon lava cake was just okay — but everything else was awesome!!!!

This is a sterile high end mall, exactly like all of the other sterile high end malls that are all over this country. If you are a visitor to Boston, a tourist, there is no reason to go here as there is nothing about it that says "Boston". The stores are chain stores, not one of a kind unique boutiques.

Home to many of the Boston locations of high-end stores, such as Dior, Louis Vuitton, Stuart Weitzman, Tiffany & Co., Bally, Barney's, Jimmy Choo, Tory Burch, Salvatore Ferragamo, Wolford, and Vince. However, the lower-end stores such as Victoria's Secret, Gap, and J. Crew tend to be small locations, and you can usually find bigger locations elsewhere. Of note, though, Copley Place has separate, specific men's branches of stores, such as Banana Republic Men, Ludlow by J. Crew, and Coach Men.

Great variety of shops and a very nice food court too. Take the credit cards! While we were there a lot of the stores had 20% off up to 50%, so it was excellent value.
