Bought a trip on groupon. Sailed on a beautiful summer day. A ship that can take about 100 and the day we went there were about 25 of us. It was like having your own boat. Staff were very friendly and had lots of information about Boston Harbor and the ship. Customers helped hoist the sails. Two hours of relaxation.... More

I have to add my praise to those who have commented on the GCBSR. This was my first time with the Liberty Clipper. Yes, it is a bit like camping, but that was the experience that I think all of us were seeking. The crew from Capt Kyle to everyone else were thoroughly professional, pleasant, and helpful. Meals very good... More

In Baltimore we boarded the Liberty Clipper,a replica of a schooner of days gone bye, for a four day race to Portsmouth Virginia. Our imagination was filled with sea stories of Herman Melville and Jack London as we settled below deck. Ben, the steward, was ready from the moment of our arrival to help us with our bags. We awoke... More

We had a blast sailing with the Liberty Clipper and its enthusiastic crew in the GCBSR. Great hospitality and professionalism. The cabins are like camping so don't go expecting luxury. But the experience was all we had hoped.

This is a great experience and very different to the big, commercial boats we sometimes use that feature non stop commentary, a snack bar, the forced posed photos on boarding etc. We sailed on a much smaller, true sail ship, and got to enjoy a leisurely sunset cruise with chance to talk to the crew, find out some history about... If you are looking for a quiet harbor tour, this is the one for you. I have had other tours of Boston Harbor with a diesel ship that was heavily narrated. I find the drone of the engine distracting and narrations difficult to understand most times. The crew of the Liberty Clipper did give some information about the harbor, it's... More

This experience seems to totally depend on the wind and weather. You could get an exciting sail or just drift around the harbor. Great deal on group on, but scheduled sail was cancelled and we left for it before they called. Not good. I guess you should call before you leave, but they don't return calls, so good luck. Just... We hopped on one of the tall ships for a 90 minute ride around the Boston Harbor. Tacking to to and fro towards Logan's runway area and then back towards the Tobin Bridge. It was great fun. We had a great sail. We had the perfect day with fabulous crew. Very knowledgeable and friendly. They'll even let us pitch into... More

The crew was good but the sail was disappointing. We did not get a seat so we stood for the 2 hours! Boat needed repairs. The captain did not move out the harbor. We circled around and saw the same things over and over again. I am from Boston and I would not recommend this sail.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
