We didn’t spend too much time here as it was nearing sundown and getting cold. Cute area with lots of parking. Great place for a walk or picnic!

It doesn't have any competition so the lines are long, the food overpriced but it is in a great location. Perfect example of how difficult it is to get ahead when the system is rigged.

A completely biased review as I have been going there for over 50 years. Once again I got the clams with bellies as I usually do and once again they were absolutely delicious. Highly recommended. Parking can be a challenge but be patient.

When I worked at Gillette many years ago we would head down to Castle Island for a hot dog at Sullivan’s and a walk around the castle. The place is mostly the same as I remember, but they have added some nice things. I wanted...More

12 months a year you can find us at Castle Island, enjoying the breezes (and winter winds) taking the approx 2 mile walk around Pleasure Bay and the old fort. Lunch (or breakfast) at Sullivan's is a great and inexpensive stop to enjoy a meal...More

Clean, spacious, and very pleasant. We came here to do our church event, and found many areas to relax and worship. There’s a play ground for the kids, a restroom, Fort Independence which offers free tours, and the beach and many more! Beautiful sight seeing...More

My friend and I took our sons to Castle Island for the day. They enjoyed running around, playing at the park and watching a cruise ship go by. Of course we had to get an ice cream from Sullivan’s, which was also good.

We were disappointed the Fort has limited availability. It has a limited number of tour groups. We are used to being able to explore at least some of the inside of forts on our own

Great for young kids. There's a playground, "castle", airplanes, dogs, boats, beach, and a hot dog stand. For grown-ups: a place to walk while your kids are entertained.

The park, beach area and grounds are always open. The fort itself has seasonal hours.

It's always open to walk there. The restaurant (Sullivan's) is seasonal, usually closed December to March or so. Sometimes they lock the close in parking gate at night, but there's plenty of places to park nearby.
