Our extended family visited during the holidays and spent a nice 30 minutes watching a demo and then browsing the shop. The items are beautiful and some of the smaller items are reasonably priced @$25 or so. There are also some very high end bowls, vases and such.

Visiting in January 2020, we were in Ashville and stopped by Lexington Glassworks. So I enjoy a beer, watch the experts forming glass creations while the boss trips through all the beautiful displays. The process is extremely interesting, the beer very tasty and their work product spectacular. The artisans put on a show and precisely described the materials, the equipment and the processes used to produce these magnificent creations. Friendly folks they are!
Fast forward to February 2020 as we made a special trip to re-visit with a purpose this time. The boss wanted custom pendants over our kitchen breakfast bar and they had to be made by Lexington Glassworks. I learned long ago that the boss is always right. The boss again looked through their inventory as I spoke with Billy about his work and how they do what they do.
Finally the boss said "Hey, what do you think about this?" I knew at that point my thinking was totally irrelevant, but what she suggested was really great! So we ordered the 3 pendants (I'll be wiring the overhead fixtures myself) and now, after only two weeks we received a call that they'll be shipped today!
If you're intrigued at all by glass blowing or forming, this is the place to visit. I also want to than Alli (sp?) for the great conversation about the glass, and orchids and lots of other stuff around Asheville.
These are super folks a definitely worthy of a giant thumbs up!

Visited in time to catch 2 glass presentations. I have seen these demonstrations before and am always amazed. Because of COVID-19 they have put up plexiglass to protect the artists and the viewers so the only challenge is hearing the artist explaining what they are doing. My hope and suggestion is that they figure out a way to amplify the artists' voice so visitors can hear exactly what they are doing. All in all well worth a visit. Good prices too.

Just around the corner from our lodging was the Lexington Glassworks. The beauty, talented gifts and welcoming of these artists was remarkable. One could watch a skilled artist at work, enjoy and appreciate the beautiful pieces and purchase lovely items too. If you appreciate talent and beauty - if you are purchasing or just enjoying the view this is a must visit when you are in Asheville.

This place is amazing, beautiful work and craftsmanship. It is also a great place to let the kiddo's watch as the art pieces are created. It really gives an appreciation for the skill, time, creativity that goes into each piece.

What a fun side visit in Asheville! My wife and I stumbled across it while brewery hopping and thought we'd take a peek in since we saw a dozen or more people in there. We got to see a live demo from behind a plexiglass shield which was great from a distance perspective, but also to block the heat. Very warm in the hot shop (obviously). Got to see the glass blowers make a few whiskey decanters and glasses during our half hour walk through. We just finished watching Blown Away on Netflix last week so we had a great time pointing out the various tools and glass art styles. Very expensive works, but the work is very well done and there's a lot of technique that goes into each piece.

We came upon Lexington Glassworks due to a wedding we got to attend last fall in Asheville and loved the colorful spaces. In retrospect was the artisan vibe a suiting surrounding for the color--rich American / Indian wedding even more so than we initially imagined. The food and drinks (not sure whether catered by a third party company) was also excellent, making an explicit recommendation obsolete. Go and have a look!

This is a working glass studio and salesroom. Most days you can see the artists working the glass to create a wide aray of glass art. The no pressure friendly salesperson did not interfere wile you walked around the studio. Very varied glass art is created here. If you like glass do not miss. Hope this helps.

What a cool place to browse. The glasswork is amazing! You can watch the artisans work on the glass and create beautiful bowls, vases, and other glass work. The artisan explained the steps as he went. It was fascinating to watch. It was also very COVID friendly as it is in a large warehouse with the large doors open and hand sanitizer available.

Thank you for visiting our studio! We are a working studio and our glass artists work 7 days a week making one of a kind glass and custom lighting. We always strive to experiment with different techniques, colors, and forms. We love what we do and we're thrilled to hear that you love it too!
We take COVID very seriously here, requiring masks and hand sanitizer. We are so happy we could create a space you feel safe to visit during these hectic times.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write us a review! We hope you'll visit us again when you're next in Asheville!

Very cool to see them create a piece of blown glass art. This is a small store attached to the glass working area-- you can book an experience to try it with a professional. Beautiful creations available to buy

Is there a way to know when you'll be able to see them working?

Hello, I don't know. We just walked in on a Saturday and it was happening. It's worth phoning ahead to ask.

There is a church parking lot about 300 feet. It's about $1 per hour. There is parking on the major streets near by also. Good luck and enjoy!

Can we just walk in or are there certain times when we can watch the demonstrations?

Call before you go because they are not always blowing glass. However store is always open. First time we went furnace was cold nobody making anything. Came back the next day and they were only making pencil rod. Pencil rod is a supply they make to use when they make cool stuff. I asked when I could come back and to see when they are actually blowing glass. Third time got to watch them make some vases. It was pretty cool. Here is their info from their website.
MON - SAT: 10 am - 6 pm
SUN: 11 am - 6 pm
No glassblowing on Tuesdays.
