You don’t have to hike to the top to enjoy the falls. About a quarter of the way up, just past the viewing deck, there’s an area to wade in the water with the kids.

0.8 FLAT EASY walk to falls BEAUTIFUL easy to find several benches to rest though hike is not strenuous in the least
