- Jemilla TrevinoJacksonville, Florida4 contributionsNice but not what I expectedCute little shopping area. It's not what I expected. I thought there would be a more historical factor to the area. It was mostly high end shops. The Olde World Christmas Shoppe was lovely for nice ornaments and MTN AVL was nice shop for magnets and treats.Visited November 2023Travelled with familyWritten 12 November 2023
- trophywestRedding, California815 contributionsShops & Historical BuildingsThough it was rainy, the historical buildings were interesting. There are some shops for the must have items. There is free wine tasting but the line was very long & not moving. A hint would be to just go to the wine bar & pay for what you would like to try.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 3 January 2024
- Rebecca CAtlanta, Georgia164 contributionsQuaint feel but could be betterThere are maybe 15 higher end shops-many are chain stores you can visit in any big city. The buildings are quaint and look very historic. It would be cool if there were some more locally owned, unique shops. Not many restaurants either-and everything closed down by 6 pm.Visited February 2024Travelled with familyWritten 20 February 2024
- Alex CNeustadt an der Weinstrasse, Germany23 contributionsWorth itI've had the pleasure of visiting the Biltmore several times, and each experience has been absolutely delightful, regardless of the season. The grandeur of the Biltmore house is unparalleled, making the tour well worth it, even though the ticket price is a bit steep at $80.00 per person. The maintained Biltmore gardens are a visual treat, & the charming Biltmore village adds to the overall enchantment, providing a lovely backdrop for a leisurely stroll. The kids in our group thoroughly enjoyed interacting with the various animals on the estate, and we were lucky enough to spot baby chickens—almost took some home with us!Visited March 2023Travelled with familyWritten 25 February 2024
- Lovin' LifeJaffrey, New Hampshire381 contributionsQuaint village with national chain stores and touristy restaurants. Best place is the All souls church! This "village" is a nice walking area with the usual chain stores. Very touristy! There is the All Souls church which is a must see if you are into architecture as it's designed by Richard Morris Hunt and the only church still remaining that he built. We stopped for lunch at the Wayside Station and it was very good and in a historic building.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 5 April 2024

It can't be. Once again, COVID has ruined everything. The reservation list at the Biltmore was quite long. Who knew? I've been there at least five times. I guess the "Welcome Center" is no longer in operation. Reservations and paid tickets to the "grounds" are needed to get past the entrance to the estate. That means even to Antler Village to shop in the shops, eat in the restaurants or to buy wine. It's SO exclusive you get to pay twice the price to mingle with those that can afford to see where the rich and famous once lived. Never again. Once again, lesson learned. I'll stay home and save my money or go somewhere carefully researched.

I'm not sure I would add this to the list of things to do while visiting the Biltmore. It's an unremarkable shopping area for the hotels that are nearby. It gives them a place to walk and have ice cream, grab a bite to eat, or relax with a glass of wine. There are too many cool things in Asheville to even make this a stop on your vacation.
A major negative for people staying in the hotels is that the place closes down early. We went to the winery around 7:00 PM, and they closed down at 8:00. On our way back to the car, we stopped for ice cream, but it too was closed.

The Hotel is inside the Biltmore Estate (Asheville-NC).
It's in the side of the little farm (chicken, horses, ships), and the winery (the big store). The Hotel is very cozy and the attendants are very helpful and friendly. There is a bus that takes you to the places inside the property, like the restaurants, the house (Palace) and the activities. The restaurant inside this hotel is very good and also there is a little cafe in the 1 floor. Also there are some other restaurants inside the property. The parking is free. I liked a lot and I definitely will come back again to this hotel.

When visiting Asheville, we always spend an afternoon in the village. I love all of the unique shops. Morning Glory Arts and Crafts and Spartina 449 are my favorites. My husband and I can spend hours browsing the gigantic art store and we always bring home a little something special. It is fun just leisurely strolling the brick sidewalks of the village followed by lunch at Brueger's Bagels. Love the bagel sandwiches! Without a doubt, we will definitely visit Biltmore Village during our next stay.

Walked into Biltmore Village from nearby motel accommodation. The streets were well lit and attractively trimmed up for the Festive season. Mix of retail units, generally "high end" but good choice of eateries offering International menus. Food and drink prices aimed at tourists and discerning locals. Quality and service well above 'average'. As a visitor experience on a Monday evening in late December, the Biltmore village is good value. The grand entrance to the Biltmore estate is worth a detour to add pizazz and a touch of class. The pub grub in the old station house was reassuringly visitor friendly and the passing trains were reassuringly real to enhance the Biltmore atmosphere.

We stopped in to eat and really enjoyed lunch at the Well-Bred Bakery. There are many shops but most were ones I can shop at when I am home. We did enjoy a few art shops and made several purchases at the Southern Highland Craft Guild.

My friend and I went to this restaurant for lunch. I ordered the spinach and feta cheese crustestless quiche. She got tuna on a crescent. Unfortunally, the fruit cup was off as a side but the slaw was on. The quiche was expected. the slaw was rather dry. Her tuna on crescent looked rather nice with tomato, lettuce and a Cressaunt. I would have asked for some mayo.
They didn't keep the big tea container full, or it wasn't full to begin with. It never got filled up while we were there, although, I made the girl filling the cooler with drinks aware.
I'm glad they no longer have sandwiches drying out in the case. Good luck when you go here. It was nice to see the salads. The cut pieces of cake in the dessert case also were dry on top, but they must be cut to order now. Good!

Be aware- now they are charging like you are going to Disney world. Just a few years back, you pay flat fee per car and you could shop at the estate and village. NOW they charge $85 per person just to get in. Then you pay separate for visiting the house. For a family of 4, be ready to pay over $700. lol.

My wife and I decided to spend our 33rd wedding anniversary at Biltmore so we chose the hotel for our stay. I can say the hotel was a disappointment. We spent the day and the Biltmore house that was amazingly beautiful and awesome but as far as the hotel not so awesome. We got done with our daily adventures and went back to the room and about 8:30 pm we was hungry and wanted something to eat well to our surprise the 2nd floor rests was closed the first floor cafe was closed and Cedric’s was the only place open until 9pm. I went there at 8:30 and asked if I could get a Togo order and was told no because they were to busy so we checked out the next morning and ate on the way. Our next visit to Biltmore we will be staying in a hotel in town.

I’m making a reservation to Ruth’s Chris on Thanksgiving Day, it is listed as Biltmore Village. Is it in the estates property? Do I have to pay a parking fee?
Written 17 October 2021
Many others have answered and I concur. Free parking, not on Biltmore Estate

IS the Biltmore estate open this year first week of January 2021? (Or )maybe Dec. 30/31
Same question for the Biltmore village restaurants and shopping due to Covid - didn't know if they were open or not.
Thanks in advance.

Is Biltmore Village pet friendly? We plan to visit Asheville with our teacup Maltipoo, but unsure where we can take him. I hear Asheville is very pet friendly. Thanks for the info!

They follow North Carolina phase 2 reopening schedule with limited capacity, hours and admission. Best to keep up to date on the newest development on line or call 800-411-3812.

Due to covid 19 The Biltmore estate will not be open when we plan to be there. Does anyone know if there is ANY vantage point in which to view the estate for a photo? Is there any entrance available or limited access to drive around the grounds? The website does not address this question specifically.
thank you

If the main gate is closed or blocked there is no way to drive closer to the Chateau for photos...its quite a ways into the middle of the Estate. If they have closed the hotel and shops as well, you will also not be able to drive into or around the huge estate. You cannot just walk/hike in.
They are very strict about who can go into the Estate even in a normal year...you need a specific date and tickets to do so. However, I had a lot of questions before we went last Thanksgiving...and I e-mailed off of the website link and did get specific answers. You could try that to verify that they are not allowing drive-throughs.

Hi. What is the cost for a daytime adult visit to the gardens and house at Biltmore in April, say the middle of April? Do you offer a senior discount?
Written 17 January 2020
$79.95 for all of the estate at your leisure ,shuttle throughout included. Wine tasting Yes I got a $10.00 senior discount.
Written 18 January 2020
Yes there is parking underneath one whole row of buildings in the village. There are buildings without under parking but parking on the street but it is hard to get - have to catch someone leaving. Park once and walk around if you like to walk or are able to do that.

Dogs are allowed on the Biltmore Village grounds, as far as being allowed in establishments/stores, that is left up to the individual owners. The Village is usually pretty crowded, so for dogs that typically don't do well with crowds and congestion, it may not be the place. Leashes are required.

Hello, we are planning a tour of the Biltmore House tomorrow at 12:30 and would like to do brunch at the Village to be close. Recommendations and the best places to eat?
Written 28 January 2017
I am so very sorry that I just found this. I hope you found The Corner Kitchen for your brunch. There are numerous other
restaurants in the Village that have just as delicious food.
You will also find a casual lunch or fine dining at the Red Stag located inside the Grand Bohemian.
