Asheville Museum of Science (AMOS) is the premier exploratory science experience in downtown Asheville. With fully interactive exhibits, street level access, and a variety of educational programs, AMOS is a must visit for the whole family! AMOS is currently in our Soft Opening phase, as we continue to complete the rest of our exhibits. All admission prices are half off as we look towards our Grand Opening in the summer of 2017.

After being hidden in the basement of the Art Museum, the Science center has its own abode. It's small but wants to grow. The workers are pleasant and helpful. We saw a film and presentation about the then forthcoming eclipse. This museum needs financial fertilization...More

One of the smallest museums that I've been in but their exhibits are fascinating and unique! They are geared more toward children which is awesome, I will definitely bring my son when we come again!!

Yes, it is small, but it's growing. Here's what I suggest, buy a membership. Why? You'll be supporting the growth of the museum and you can go back as much as you want if you feel that you've overpaid for admission (great for entertainment on...More

Our Grandson loved this place despite its relatively small size. Had a great climbing structure to play on. But the highlights for my Grandson were the scavenger hunts of the fossils and minerals.

This is a fantastic place to take kids when visiting Asheville. You'll only need to plan for about two hours because it's pretty small, but the experience packs a punch. Lots to do! The staff is so totally awesome! They engaged us the whole time...More

There just wasn't much to see. What they have is nicely done, but it's a quick trip. Beautiful minerals, some fossils, a little astronomy.

It's only $6 for adults to enter this museum but the place is just so small it really isn't worth the money. It has one side of minerals/rocks and the other side is a child's area. We had no idea that the one area we...More

Although small it has interesting areas, good mineral collection, children's activities, increasing their presence in Asheville and worth support. Interesting artwork of local flora and fauna.

We visited when the museum had just moved into its new facility, so not all exhibits were completed yet. Quality science content and engaging activities. Looking forward to visiting again when the expansion is complete. Convenient downtown location.More

Hi Cathy, Thank you for your visit and kind words! We are working hard to construct four additional hands-on exhibits. These will complete our main exhibit floor and allow families to explore the science of our western North Carolina region. We look forward to your...More
