McCormick Field opened its gates for the first time in 1924 when the Asheville Tourists played host to the Detroit Tigers. Over the years the stadium has encountered numerous renovations, most recently a seating bowl makeover in 2015, that has ensured the stadium remains up with the times while keeping its lustrous history and throwback feel. With a capacity of just over 4,000, the dynamic during a game is intimate and scenic. It is a hitter friendly Minor League ballpark thanks to a short porch in right field and a 42-foot high wall in right-center. McCormick Field is still inhabited by the Asheville Tourists, the Single A Affiliate of the Colorado Rockies.

I love minor league games. Close in and cheapest parking. Low cost and good seats. Players play hard to get to majors. Cheap food and souvenirs.

Have attended several Tourist games here and always had a good time. The fans are energetic and the seats are great. There is good parking on the hill if you come early and the games are always exciting. A nice summer evening activity.

The ballpark is short walk from downtown. Having visited other minor league parks, this fits the class A ball park. More of a small town older ballpark feel. A pleasant experience, but not a top minor league park.

I really enjoyed my intro to the Asheville Tourists. There was ample parking (even though we had to park at the church across the street, but even this overflow was well marked). Additionally, a shuttle driver happily picked us up and shuttled us over to...More

Typical baseball fun in your average all American stadium. I wish they gave away more promo items, and the food needs to be improved. If food was better, this would be a gold mine

Not about the amount of the salaries the players are making. It is about the joy of the game and the fun of watching your family watch their first game. The legendary Thirsty Thursday is a great way to visit with your friends and watch...More

Small stadium with a big league feel. The Asheville Tourists are fun to watch so are the folks who come to cheer them on.

Yes, the area around the stadium is safe. Lots of restaurants too. Park in their parking lot. Have fun

There's always something special for kids there. On Sunday's the kids get to go on the field, meet the players and get autographs. Sometimes there's more. Show up early for more chances at special things going on.
