A definite stop if art is on your to do list. Large, with a very nice collection of a variety of mediums from predominantly southern artists.

What a beautiful art gallery! Do not miss the upstairs which has by far the most art in the 3 floors of the gallery. 1st floor and downstairs galleries appear to be special exhibits that are changed out. But do not miss the upstairs floor of the gallery. Outstanding gallery with a wide range in types of art.

The Blue Spiral is much more than a art gallery. Exhibits are changed frequently so there are always new works to view. The artists who are showcased are constantly widening my view of art; from intricate portraits made of soda bottle tops to exquisite glass work in vibrant colors and patterns. One of the goals of the Blue Spiral seems... More

We visited to look, but bought elsewhere. The featured exhibit had some amazing pieces -- pottery, cut paper, el al -- that made the items in some other galleries look like child's play.

This is a must see for art lovers and collectors. I feel like I am in NYC every time I step inside this renovated three level gallery flooded with natural light from a massive central skylight over its contemporary steel staircase. Very professional staff and a wide array of media. Local and regional artists and sculptors represented, both established and... More

Being a full time artist myself and new to the Asheville area, I decided to check out a few of the local galleries and was so happy to have stopped into Blue Spiral 1. We spent over an hour viewing the various work that encompassed so many different mediums. Love the space that was given to each of the pieces... More

I visit this gallery every time we come to Asheville. It is my favorite, & you can drop in while walking downtown. There are three levels, & my favorite is upstairs. I think they have unusual things, & a wide variety of art. They represent over a hundred regional artists.

If you are a serious purchaser of art, this is the place for you. Quality art tastefully displayed. This place isn't crammed with stuff like so many galleries. Well worth a visit.

We had a hard time finding Blue Spiral, but enjoyed browsing the art collection once we did. Nice escape from the unusually hot weather in Asheville.
