The house is amazing, but the meandering trails and colorful gardens were my favorite. Take time after your indoor tour to walk the outside and note the wide variety of plants on site.

Biltmore Estate is vast, the house is huge and just beautiful with amazing views. The tour is very interesting and there is so much to see. The gardens are huge and so varied, from the Orchid house, to the grapevines and perfectly planted beds. There...More

I visited with 3 friends the first week of January before the Christmas decorations had been taken down. It was a daylight tour and, although the effects of night lighting were not visible, the house was still spectacular. We did not have any handicapped individuals...More

We loved visiting the estate! We came for the candlelight tour and was very impressed! We planned out the day with food reservations and had a horseback ride planned as well! I highly recommend planning where you want to see and how much time to...More

I wish we had longer to stay and roam the grounds. This 125,000 acre estate is not to be missed. It is pricey at $50 per person but you get transported back to an era gone by. On your tour of the house you are...More

Well worth two or three days. Rent the audio tour, take the bus tour and learn all about the fantastic home. My fourth time and I see something new every time.

One-of-a-kind experience in America. Where else can you tour an actual castle that a real family lived in? The sheer size of the property and depth of the information provided is unbelievable. Pricey, but worth it. Rent the audio-phones. There are no tour guides telling...More

The house may be beautifully decorated but incredibly crowded. So crowded that it just isn’t worth it. I stood for 30 minutes in one area and couldn’t move. It felt more like the pit at a concert than a historic home. Top it off with...More

The music alone was worth the candlelight price but the decorations were so lovely. . Unfortunately we slept in next day so missed our chance to revisit the house when we were planning to do audio tour. We did get to wine tasting which was...More

I was surprised by the lack of large directional signs being the main tourist attraction and got lost and stopped a couple of times to ask directions. Fortunately a cashier at a waffle house gave me clear directions.
