The Morrow Point Boat Tour was beautiful and well worth the 232 steps (and 3/4 mile walk) to get there! Do make reservations well in advance.

The Pine Creek trail is the same trail you take to the Morrow Point Boat Rides. You have to make reservations for the boat trip as they will not take anyone who just shows up. If you just want to walk the trail down to the boat area you can do that on this trail. There is no water on... More

This is the beautiful trail you will take after you sign up for the famous Morrow Point Boat Tour by calling 970-641-2337 for required advance reservations. The Pine Creek Parking Lot is located off U.S. Highway 50 at Mile Post 130. Begin your adventure by descending to the bottom of the spectacular Black Canyon of the Gunnison via 232 easy... More

The 1 1/2 hour Morrow Point Boat Tour is well worth the climb down and back up 232 stairs. The tour guides are knowledgeable of the history of the area. The ride is beautiful and serene. The highlight of the tour was spotting a bear that crossed the trail, jumped in the water and swam across the river.

I'm not sure I would do this hike unless taking the Boat Tour. I recommend the boat tour. The ranger does a nice job sharing history of the area and it is a very nice cruise along the reservoir. The stairs are not so bad going down. It is not 200 consecutive steps - some flat sections break them up.... More

This is the hike you will take if you plan on taking the Morrow Point Boat Ride. You will have to deal with 200+ steps but it's a wonderful view of the river and the mountains as you walk down, just take your time. Not sure how long the trail is but it doesn't go on for too long once... More

This hike is great if you want a short hike with great views! It has someting like 206 steps down to the river (whcih may seem daunting on the way back up, but there are benches to sit and rest), and then you can walk along the trail by the river. There are also boat tours down the river from... More
