We went on a pole boat ride 2 hour tour at 1 PM. Perhaps this wasn't the best season, but we've only got to see 4 alligators heads in the water. The tour felt like a nice relaxing boat ride through a narrow public channel...More
Went on the 2 hour pole boat tour with our guide Ralph. The guide was very well informed and taught us much about the everglades swamp ecological system. Saw a number of gators from medium size to small along the way. This is a very...More
Jack was an incredible guide and a great guy to meet on our trip. He was super knowledgeable about the area, environment, animals and especially gators!

Ten Thousand Islands are twisting channels through remote mangrove islands. Everglades Adventure Tours offers a narrated boat tour, and you will often see dolphins, a variety of birds, including bald eagles, hawks, osprey. There are also alligators and snakes.

We did a pole boat tour (2 adults, 3 kids) in the late afternoon/early evening and had a wonderful experience. The tour ended up being the highlight of our trip to Florida (and maybe even all of our trips to Florida). The company was wonderful...More
We booked the tour in advance and were somewhat skeptical about the cost. (Kids get a better rate if you ask for it!) But if you compare a pole boat tour with the standard air boat rides, it is worth every penny. You get to...More
Joe took us partway down the Turner River and pointed out an osprey nest, with momma feeding the chicks while Poppa Osprey was threatening another male away in the perfect blue sky, a Great White Heron standing in the tall grasses only a few feet...More

Everglades Adventure Tours is where we booked the pole boat tour. They have "eco tours" with hiking, kayaking, canoeing, and paddleboards. In addition, they offer "safari tours" with an emphasis on photography and/or birding. Finally, they offer night tours. It's best to go on their web site to understand the differences.
The actual booking desk is located inside of a building labeled "Skunk Ape Research Center" (of all things). They will talk to you about what you would like to do, then recommend a very personalized way to accomplish it. See their web site at evergladesadventuretours
To my knowledge, there are no airboat rides offered there. You can find a ton of airboat companies in Everglades City, about ten minutes away (not to mention a bunch of other places).
