The unpaved 6 mile gravel road to get to the trailhead was pretty rough (45 minutes). At one point we almost turned back because of a steep hill with large divets but we made it! We have a midsize truck - Chevrolet Colorado with 2WD....More

Sure the road there can be rough in the washes... That's why they warn you. A friend made it in a Ford Focus. Maybe it's user error... Wonderful campsites with wonderful views. Hike gets steep at the end. Bring plenty of water.

It was a good hike, but I wouldn't make that drive again if you paid me. Very rough road..and we were in a 4x4. Never again.

love walking the trail... lots of great views and many photo opportunities.. I will walk this trail again if I come back..

Other than high clearance vehicles only. We enjoyed the views here, there are 5 primitive campsites here. You must obtain your permit from Panther Junction Visitor Center before camping here. They are open til 5pm, so time your drive before going and expect the campsites...More

Visited on 4/7/15 and a half dozen times previously. Can't add a lot to what folks have said except the drive up the dirt track to the trailhead is not that bad. Made it easily in a Subaru Forester with street tires. A hard rain...More

This is not one do do in summer, but was nice in March. Hike up to the place where the falls would be if we had rain. Still there is shade and great views ahead and behind you on the trail.
