This was a great hike with tremendous views. When we reached the peak/end of the trail, we looked over the edge and to our surprise we observed a mother bear with three cubs, walking about 100 feet below. It was an inspiring site to watch...More

It is all uphill going in an downhill coming out but it's worth the views. It takes a little longer than the trail map says if you are taking in all the sites and taking pictures along the way. this makes a great afternoon hike...More

The Lost Mine Trail is a nice and easy hike. There are several good lookout areas for photo's. If it is a hot day, this is a much cooler hike than some of the other options.

Although a steep hike up, it was well worth the views, plants, trees, flowers and quiet. Once at the peak, the view (on a clear day) lets you see all the way into Mexico, Rio Grande, etc.

We only walked about a mile up which is where the great views start. Somebody showed me a picture he had just taken of a bear in the area, so keep your eyes peeled!

I consider myself to be in pretty good shape and a moderately-experienced solo hiker. I started this hike around 7AM and it was a perfect time to catch the sun at good temperature; in late September, Texas still gets very hot midday. I found the...More

Hike is just right for a starter! Not too long or strenuous, but long enough to get the body in tune. Great views and a nice "out and back" type of hike.

On the advice of the ranger we only did the first mile or so of the trail to marker #10. This brings you to the top of a ridgeline with amazing views in several directions. There are nice benches at this point so you can...More
