The overlook was more than I expected. The view of the valley is worth your time while in the area. You can take the very short walk from the parking spaces to the lookout without going up and down steps or hills.

Go when the weather is interesting so you have more to look at. Enjoy the canyon view and waste water waterfall.

Plan to spend 20 to 30 minutes there as the views are spectacular. The small parking area is only a short walk from the viewing platform. You can also get great views from other areas to the sides of the parking lot. This is a "don't miss it" attraction for those staying in or passing through White Rock. Although you... More

The information professional at the Los Alamos Visitor Center suggested that we not miss sunset at the Overlook when the sun would be behind us. She was certainly correct in her recommendation. The view of the Rio Grande was awesome with the river sparking. The cliffs we're golden and increased in color and tone as the minutes passed. Finally, the... More

I go here regularly for a good dose of perspective. It is one of a handful of special places in the world I've been to where the view alone can draw you away from the things of man. It is a spectacle for the soul, and reminds us of the simple glory of creation. It is one of those "end... More

This is a quick side trip in White Rock and was especially beautiful in the fall. You park and take a very short walk to an observation point. From this point you can see into the canyon and cast your eyes upon the Rio Grande river and the surroundings. The rock formations of the canyon walls are to the left... More

Stunning views of gorge from up above. There is a beauty hidden there. Picturesque place. Can sit down and just sketch something wonderful. It's beautiful with a rainbow if you are lucky. Must see. Very short hike. Any body can walk.

Right in White Rock. Sangre de Cristos and the Rio Grande valley. Check it after dark to see the Milky Way.

We had no idea of the vista we would see from here. Huge valley view! There is simple access to this overlook platform. This park is about 2 minutes from the highway with restaurants nearby.
