I love mountain biking, and this ride was an excellent workout with plenty of anaerobic climbs and fun zippy downhills. You're an excellent rider if you can do the trail without your foot hitting the ground. The traction is excellent, though, and you can climb and traverse things you wouldn't expect. Great fun

The entire loop is not for your average tourist- don't try it! Or stay on the practice loop. We're three experienced mountain bikers and while technically, I did not find the trail challenging, the steep uphills were tiring (it was our first time on bikes after the winter hiatus up north). That said we did the whole loop fairly quickly,... More

This is it - Slickrock. The ride is advanced, but once you get into it (try not to brake going down before an uphill), it's a great roller coaster ride. The views are tremendous. There's no way around. It - this is a great classic any serious mountain biker should try at least once.

Slickrock is the real thing for hard core mountain bikers! It can be vusy and crowded, but there are trails for all levels of riders and the payoff is a view of the red rocks that cant be beat. Come ready to work as this is a challenging ride!

Riding slick rock was like nothing else. We'd been riding in Utah for about 9 days on a variety of different trails but nothing quite like Slick rock. I'm so pleased it was in the itinerary. Smooth, grippy (real grippy even off camber), steep, tough going especially in the heat and vistas like no other. We did the full loop... More

First, this area is fantastically beautiful, a combination of exposed red sandstone, desert scrub bushes, and sand and eye popping views, often topped by a flawless blue sky, so even if you can't ride a mountain bike well enough to conquer the trail, you can hike along beside it as well, as it is well marked the entire length. A... More

You have been told that "you have to ride Slickrock if you go to Moab". While this is reasonable to very strong riders, I would add that beginners will have a better time walking part of it and watching some technique of the skilled riders. It may be out of your comfort zone, and with a bit of careful instruction,... More

The ride may be a bit much for beginners or even some intermediate riders but this is a trail every mountain biker needs to do at least once. The constant flowing rock trail is such an unique experience and the scenery is beautiful. The last time I did this trail was during sunrise to beat the heat and the crowds... More

For many years, as a mountain biker, I've heard of the Moab Slick Rock trail. On this trip it was a must. I'm not a young insane rider, but I just wanted to try it. Many in town warned me about it being a true black diamond and that people had died out there. Well I decided to at least... More

Great place to ride!! Fun, fun, fun, but not for the beginner. Take your time and enjoy the sights or concentrate on the trail and haul.
