Baker beach is a nice starting point for a hike along an undulating path upwards to the Golden Gate Bridge visitor center with beautiful views of the bridge, Pacific Ocean and Marin Headlands.

I went there for the Golden Gate Bridge view. The angle of view is very nice and the bridge is nicely lit in the afternoon. Still it is a cool beach where a lot of people hang out. The closer you go to the side...More

It’s the last stop on bus number 29. The beach was incredible, it has public toilets, a bbq area and a beautiful small pathway that takes you along the shore. The place was free of tourist, just a few locals and a great atmosphere. We...More

Came here around 10 in the morning. There were already a few people. However, it could be better to visit here after noon, when the sun is shining from the front (the direction of the sea). Several parking lots. There were toilets and foot wash...More

Not only a lovely beach but also a great place to get a different perspective of the iconic bridge. Parking is available and the road in enable you to also drive through the Presidio, so very much a two for one opportunity.

Sunset is a good time to be at the beach to watch the sun set in the west. You also get good views of the golden gate bridge and these are from the ocean side (most pictures are taken from the city side)

I do not know 100%, but most Cities have ordinances which do NOT allow overnight camping unless in designated campgrounds, with facilities, which this is not- It's just a parking lot to access the trails
