Amazing location to enjoy Jazz/International music

The amazing Goran Bregovic ensemble put on a fabulous event at this inspiring relatively new location. Five years in and it just continues to deliver.

❤️ music! Was very happy to know SF jazz center opened! Went many times for a various concerts. Enjoyed it most of the times. I don't know who designed the facility, but definitely did not take a lot in consideration. The lab floor does not have incline, so from the third row and so on, you can not see anything.... More

An outstanding venue specifically for Jazz. The venue has incredible acoustics and not a bad seat in the house. The musicians are world class! A very comfortable and warm environment to see and hear amazing artists. Great evening and if you like live music, highly recommend SF Jazz!

SF Jazz is a unique venue in that it is dedicated to jazz music, jazz appreciation and the development of jazz musicians. It promotes and depends on its membership to fully fund its activities. The venue has been open for 5 years and the auditorium is very special because it has been designed to provide superb acoustics for live performances.... More

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place!!! They invite world class Jazz musicians and also support local young musicians. I've been here at least 30 times, I've seen many incredible shows at both Miner Auditorium and Joe Henderson Lab, but I feel I keep missing great shows and events because fun is happening here all the time! Miner Auditorium is an intimate... More

What a great venue to hear music and BE with the performers! Acoustics were exceptional and every seat in the house is wonderful! You can SEE and HEAR the talented artists! Tonight's event with Lila Downs of Oaxaca Mexico was out of this world! The audience was very engaged and she had a way of bringing the Americas together!

We only saw one of the performance spaces - the one with the glass walls. I thought it would be hideous in terms of acoustics, but in fact the design of the room really compensated for all of the glass. I was particularly surprised by the sound insulation provided by the glass - much better than I expected. I wasn't... More

We are members, and go here quite often. The performers are world-class and the acoustics are excellent. The crowd is very respectful as well. If you have not been here, you owe it to yourself to go. It was the first free-standing jazz hall in the U.S., opening 3-4 years ago.

The SFJazz center was a wonderful place to host this amazing performer. Both the venue and the star were compelling. The stark theater has the best acoustics ever, and every seat in the house has great visibility. Mr Carpenter is a master of many musical genres, which he showcased admirably on the digital organ. From light to dark, all moods... More

The SF Jazz Center has been a terrific addition to San Francisco. There isn't a bad seat in the house with those located on the floor experiencing an intimate experience unmatched anywhere. It's like being in a smokey basement bar listening to your favorite artist - without the smoke. And the line-up is always great from year to year. It's... More

Staying in Hayes Valley

Neighbourhood Profile
Hayes Valley
Chock full of designer boutiques, art galleries, funky shoe stores, and great restaurants, it’s hard to imagine Hayes Valley once languished in the shadow of a major freeway. Its removal allowed for the creation of an attractive boulevard on Octavia Street with a community park at its center and dozens of trendy businesses to satisfy visitors looking for a stylish respite.
