One afternoon, my wife and I were learning about the many facets of Golden Gate Park when we saw the carousel. At first, we thought it was closed, since the horses were stationary, however when we approached the gentleman that was selling the hotdogs, he...More

The ride lasts for about 5min and is total joy for kids and grown ups. Kids over 4y pay 1$/ticket and adults 2$. The carousel is lovely and is a must visit when at the Golden Gate Park and nearby playground. Tipp for adults: don't...More

Golden Gate Park is a spectacular park. Within the park are wonderful and beautiful attractions and place to visit. Among my most favorite is the Carousel in Golden Gate Park. It is near the Children's Playground and the Bochi Ball courts. It is within walking...More

Needed to let our little one burn off some energy while on vacation. Came to this park mostly for the playground. Was quite excited to see a carousel here as well. $2 for an adult and you can take up to 2 kids under 6...More

The carousel is inexpensive and the operator friendly. We almost had it to ourselves on a weekday in November. The adjacent playground makes it a worthwhile 1-2 hour stop with children.

My kids saw it on the park sign, so we went to check it out. It looks as if it hasn't been taken very good care of and expensive to ride for the amount of time.

Have been to Golden Gate Park several times and did not know about the carousel. It's hidden near the tennis courts, play ground, and the lawn bowling club. What a beautifully restored 1914 treasure. Even adventured a ride on an elegant ostrich for just $2.00.

There Is a carousel in the Koret children's quarter for $1! In San Francisco, this is a bargain! It is cash only, so come prepared. Parents can ride with their children 5 years old and younger. It is right next to the playground for younger...More
