You can get a lot of information there, even detailed about special things. You can also buy public transport tickets there and get free maps. It is a good idea to start and plan your San Francisco visit here.

About a month before my trip to San Francisco, I had emailed this office. It was prompt and provided good answers to my typical tourist questions.

The BART drops off real close to the information center so it was easy to stop in and get loaded with information. Staff was courteous and helpful and steered us towards buying a muni bus pass for our stay which was an excellent suggestion. Lots...More

Helpful staff. One desk for information, then over to the cashier to buy Passports for city transit and a few souvenirs. The MUNI system is a great way to get around. If, like me, you didn't do your research before arriving in SF, this should...More

Can't say enough good about this place. The employees are knowledgeable, swift yet not at all pushy or aggressive. I recommend picking up a free street map and buy the $3. transit map only if you are strictly on bicycle. Also, I recommend a 3...More
