Cool stop.

It was easy to access and free with plenty of street parking. The view at the top was pretty cool too with the Pacific as its backdrop!

A little out of the way and nestled in the middle of a quiet residential area but well worth a visit. We actually took a local bus which stopped just at the bottom of the main road so was about a 15 minute walk up a little hill to get to the steps. Fortunately I had City Mapper switched on... More

I had to see this not only because of he view but because the pictures I saw online showed these bright colored steps in mosaic and well that seemed to work with my imagination. My HB decided to spare himself the climb but I walked up the steps with our kids and we gazed at all the patterns, names and... More

An incredible climb with super views all over San Francisco, the mosaic steps are lovely, a great place to experience the beautiful blue skies over the bay.

My 24 year old daughter wanted to go see the steps. I did it because she wanted to but was very pleasantly surprised how enchanting and fun it was to go down the steps. Big recommendation - the discovery of what the tiles become are much enhanced by getting dropped off at the top of the steps and walking down.... More

The step risers have been tiled over. To get the full effect of the mural look at the steps from the bottom. You can climb to the top and get a great view of the Sunset District and great views of the Pacific Ocean

What an amazing experience! Joined up with 5 friends to walk the stairs and the neighborhood with the itinerary #11 of the book = Stairway Walks of San Francisco. We spent a couple of hours walking the itinerary, taking in the views and the highlights noted in the book. Of course you can just do the stairs, which are amazing... More
