My wife and I are from Las Vegas. We regularly get hot stone messages from a local spa. When we arrived we were desperately in need of a great message. Or concierge recommended Burke Williams. We were a little put off that it was in the mall. We were wrong to judge. This place was exceptional. My masseuse was April.... More

This place is an oasis in the city. You should not be deterred that it's located in a shopping mall. Great place to relax and unwind, and to indulge in a massage or other spa treatment -- just for yourself, with a loved one or friends. I've been here a few times before, and was reminded how much I enjoy... More

I have a midnight international flight. I would like to shower in the evening, so I found this place to relax and get a spa treatment. Excellent service.

Second time at BW and I will definitely go back again. I booked a deep tissue 80 min massage and loved every second. This was the first massage over 50 min I have tried, as I am way to anxious to spend that much time laying there, however 80 min really flew by way too fast. The masseuse was in... More

Just walk through the black doors and you are transported to serenity, calm and relaxation. The pleasant aroma hits you first and the registration staff is welcoming, kind and accommodating. We went for massages and everything is taken care of for you in this oasis among the chaos of the mall and City beyond. They give you an introductory tour,... More

The Burke Williams in San Francisco is a surprising find amidst the craziness of a mall. Even though the mall is right there you cannot hear a thing once behind the closed doors. Amazing sound proofing! The staff is ultra attentive and make you feel as special as they can. Very helpful. The spa area is a bit dated but... More

The hotel we were staying at didn't have availability so we decided to give Burke Williams a try. I read great things and expected them but it was truly lack luster. Nothing simplistic or serene about it. As you enter the spa it was overwhelming and it's literally like a gift shop (seriously there was bags and earrings for sale).... More

The wet area (jetted pool, cool mist room, sauna, steam room) is great - though we had to hunt down someone to turn the mist on... They were late calling me back for my facial (after insisting that I be in the meeting room early). Then the esthetician spent less than a minute asking my preferences and lots of time... More

I have been here 5 times in the last year, last trip was May 2015 & it was nothing short of amazing. Always great service, friendly staff & a clean facility. Only once did I have a service (spa facial) that didn't satisfy. Emailed them regarding my concerns & the manager quickly contacted me, provided a credit for service &... More

Purchasing a treatment gets you the whole day in the spa to use the amenities. They include a fully stocked dressing/makeup area, huge showers, steam room, mist room, warm soaking tub, quiet room, and lounge. there's also fresh fruit, tea, and lemon water in every nook and cranny. Incredible value if you have time to stay for awhile. Difficult to... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
