OMG. Mochis are to die for, melts on your mouth. Expensive, though. Severs are excellent. Authentic Japanese delicacy. Even the paper bags and boxes are pretty.

Nice selection of treats. I was surprised to fund some high quality green teas as well. They were out of some of the items I wanted, but I found some nice alternatives. Not cheap.

Yes, the sweets are a bit pricey, but they are delicious. The presentation is exquisite. The service is excellent. A great place to get gourmet Japanese sweets.

Oh, the mochi at this place is so delightful. It will set you back a few bucks, but you will not be sorry. There are a few specialty items, like chocolate mochi and some seasonal treats with chestnuts, but if you stick with the mochi and he zigzag cream filled fortune cookie-looking things, you will not be disappointed.

It was so fun to go in this Japanese bakery to try something new. The staff was helpful and kind. Everything looked so beautiful. We had the persimmon with white bean paste. Nothing is overly sweet but very good.

They sell gourmet Japanese desserts for a gourmet price. Lots of mochis and little cakes and things. For those who like Japanese desserts, they can be delicious- light and not too sweet. But way too expensive! I bought a few and liked some but not all. It’s a shame I had to spend so much money just to figure out... More

This is the place to go if you want sweets from Japan. This is the only place where there products are flown in from Japan daily. It really reminds me of home.

The food they sell at this place is just way overly expensive! The sweets were really not that great and so you're just paying mostly for the packaging and the brand. It may look like a boutique shop selling exotic Japanese sweets, but one can get pretty much find the same desserts from other Asian grocery stores at a more... More

This place is definitely worth a visit if you aren't familiar with the amazingly packaged Japanese sweets. Heck, even if you are, come for a visit. It is a really cool shop. However, because they import everything in the store from Japan, the stunning price tags will keep you away from most of the things that they offer in the... More

Staying in Financial District

Neighbourhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
