A lovely residential neighborhood with some great cafes and shops on 18th Street. Not so much a tourist attraction, but a great spot for a date night or some lovely views of the city from the top of the hill. The local library has some...More

Having last visited SF 12 years ago with kids, for a two day visit we stayed in Fishermans Wharf. Coming back as a couple, we decided we'd look for a quieter neighborhood to retreat to each night after a day of playing tourist. Potrero Hills...More

When I travel I like to get out of the tourist areas and see how the locals live. If you like to do this too I recommend a few hours in Potrero Hill. There are a half dozen shops to poke around in and buy...More

Not really an attraction. This is where people live. Some good views of the downtown skyline and some very good neighborhood restaurants. But not much for tourists.

I lived on Potrero Hill in the 90's and early naughties. It has changed over the past 10 years but still has it's "Goat Hill" charm despite the influx of folks and the regular busy-ness of the local cafes and restaurants. The ONE thing to...More

Potrero Hill is a lovely, quiet residential neighbourhood south of the city, overlooking the Bay on one side and the Mission on the other. You can walk to both the Bay and the Mission, but beware the hills, which are very steep in places.

I am a regular visitor to SF and the bay area, but this is the first time I have stayed in Potrero Hill. It's like being in a village at the top of a mountain. The views are great, the roads are very steep, and...More

My wife and I have visited San Francisco for over 40 years. We've always stayed in the busy downtown/marina core. While both areas are great we now prefer to travel as a local and Potrero Hill is a GREAT neighborhood! Grab yourself a VRBO and...More
