Awesome tour!

A great way to eat and drink your way through the mission. Kayla was very accommodating and was able to sort out a gluten free menu for me.

We absolutely LOVE food tours in historical cities and this one did not disappoint. Talon was great and totally accommodating as we had a couple join us that morning and needed wheelchair accessibility. She provided great history along with great company and information about the food and restaurants themselves. What a great way to get to know a city more... More

I took an Avital Food Tour with Maria in the Mission a few days ago. It was a great introduction to the neighbourhood with excellent food to sample. I definitely did not leave hungry. I found the tour a bit pricey, and while I thought Maria was an excellent guide with a lot of knowledge and was very friendly -... More

Did a private tour of the Mission as a teambuilding with a group of 7 from work. We had a great time! Corinne was easy to work with during the booking and answered questions promptly, and we saw her a couple of times during the tour as she checked on us to make sure we were doing well. Our tour... Our guide was great. she did everything right. However the "food tour was by far the worst ive had. For $210 i expected to not leave hungry. Our first stop was 2 triangle slices of cheese. The guy was very informative and a small glass of beer. @nd stop was the smalled oyster ive ever seen in my live. One... More

Margherita was amazing. She kept us entertained, engaged and informed the whole time whe was with us. Yes, the food and drink were good, but it was Margherita that made it AMAZING!

It was a beautiful day to walk around the Mission District and enjoy new places to eat and drink. Everything was delicious and served promptly. We loved hearing the history of the area and of each place we toured from our very knowledgable guide, Daniel. He was friendly, entertaining and genuinely enjoyed hosting. You really feel like part of the... More

The highlight of our girls' weekend was undoubtedly the two spectacular tours we took with Avital Food Tours. We began in the Mission District where we nibbled our way through this up-and-coming neighborhood, and enjoyed interesting stories from our guide, Kyla, and our hosts at numerous restaurants in the neighborhood. Our second day was in the North Beach neighborhood with... More

Staying in Mission District

Neighbourhood Profile
Mission District
From burritos to bicyclists, the Mission is the foundation for all things hip in the city. Cultural attractions, an independent arts community, sumptuous street murals and a high density of bars and cafes make this neighbourhood a magnet for young people. While terrific inexpensive food is abundant, its top-of-the-line restaurants now compete with the city’s best for fashionable diners. Indulge as the locals do by heading to Mission Dolores Park, buy some ice cream, and savor one of the most diverse neighbourhoods in the country.
