Although I thought I knew San Francisco, I had an epiphany of sorts after re-visiting the Mission District. After a fabulous lunch at La Taqueria, dessert at Mission Pie, and cookies at Dianda's, I had time to kill. We got "lost" in the immediate area....More

A historical area of SanFrancisco that should be explored most likely by car unless having a specific place to go. My sister went to school in this neighborhood a long time ago and did some crazy things that I definitely would not recommend today.

Vibrant and fun. Great place to eat and people watch. Traffic and parking are tough on the weekend so best to use a car service.

Mission street, between Market and Cesar Chavez, is really full of trash. And most of the streets around are not much better. Is it cultural, is it the high number of homeless ? And why the City is not i) cleaning seriously the streets with...More

Get a map of the murals scattered throughout this neighborhood and go and admire this terrific art. Along the way, admire the strange mix of hipsters, immigrants and yuppies. Lots of coffee and good food. Lots of unusual shopping. The hip traffic has moved to...More

I left S.F. over 25 years ago, and back then, there was talk of rising rents, people being forced out, drug problems at 16th and Mission Bart stop, etc. It's been a gradual, consistent process. In 2017, like other parts of the city, there are...More

The Mission District is a treat for anyone who loves art, but especially those who love the art of Mexico. I'm an activist, and the history of the struggles of marginalized communities are told on the vivid, passionate murals of the Mission District. Take several...More

We visited friends that live in the Mission District and spent a lovely afternoon wandering around this wonderful neighborhood and admiring the many murals. There are lots of places to eat and drink as well as some inexpensive shopping opportunities. It appears that the area...More

Mission District
From burritos to bicyclists, the Mission is the
foundation for all things hip in the city. Cultural
attractions, an independent arts community, sumptuous
street murals and a high density of bars and cafes
make this neighbourhood a magnet for young people.
While terrific inexpensive food is abundant, its
top-of-the-line restaurants now compete with the
city’s best for fashionable diners. Indulge as the
