When you're visiting San Francisco, stop by The Castro. It's full of cultural history and the struggle for LGBT rights. Enjoy the restaurants, the GLBT Museum and a fantastic book store, Dog Eared Books.

A cultural landmark for the city. Make sure to hit the Castro Camera Shop and the GLBT Museum. The atmosphere of the neighborhood is electric and there is so much to see and do.

The Castro District was on of our favourite parts of the city. Streets are very clean and tidy. Different shops to the usual touristy stuff and enjoyed walking the streets and just generally having a look around.

San Francisco is filled with cool neighborhoods but this was our favorite. Seemingly the heart of the LGBT community, the neighborhood just explodes with color, starting with all the Pride flags flying from lamposts and ending with the aesthetically pleasing Castro theater. There are plenty...More

I have always loved the Castro from way back in the day. I love the one off stores and coffee shops and the general vibe of this popular gay friendly part of San Francisco. The entire city is LBGT friendly these days but there used...More

A flourishing commercial area that acts as San
Francisco's LGBT community center and cultural heart,
the Castro is a neighbourhood welcome to everyone. As
one of the first predominantly LGBT neighbourhoods in
the United States and currently its largest, it
remains one of the epicenters of activism in the
